Which Britney album did not age well at all?

I love Britney but she does have some albums that have not aged well AT ALL in my opinion.

For me, I'd say:
Britney Jean.

Now normally I would say Femme Fatale but at least that album had bops that she actually SANG.

Britney Jean just has an awful reputation and is the most infamous album in her entire discography.

 

But yeah tell me which album of hers do you think aged the worst.

I'd love to hear your guys' opinion.

I’d say BOMT and Oops are very 90s pop. The singles from the Britney album I’d say have aged quite well but some of the album tracks on there are very for their time. 

FF and BJ are very generic pop albums which IMO had Britney had control of her music - probably would never have released in the first place.

Femme Fatale. I’d say Britney Jean but Work B is flawless still this day when Femme Fatale aged terrible. The singles have no substance and were made for a quick run in the charts.

It's a grownup version of OIDIA and despite it coming 6 years ago it does not sound fresh with the exception of some songs. The production is just not good.

ITZ and Blackout sound very fresh due to their urban influences.

Also, this question circulates around the fact pop hasn't been in for a long time, so naturally most pop albums and songs will sound dated.

Her first two are classics and nostalgic for the right reasons so I wouldn’t go after them. FF is problematic with the whole dr puke situation, BJ will forever be a dumpster fire because there’s so much shadiness behind it and we know Britney didn’t record most of it and it has the worst song featuring his sister so it’s gotta be that one

Myah Jean is not a Britney album. 

Also the first too albums are part of a category of Bubblegum 90s POP and in this category they are still flawless, so don't you guys even dare !

Femme Fatale and Brenda Juana are the obvious answers. 

I also wouldn't dare come after BOMT and OIDIA because they're ICONIC, not every album reaches iconic status, so that alone is enough reason to say they in fact aged well. Some songs on them, though.  E-mail my heart, for instance. I mean...

Albums that have aged well:

• In the Zone (could be released today and still sound innovative, fresh, and new)
• Blackout (could be released today and still sound innovative, fresh, and new)
• Glory (has a distinct 2015-2016 sound, but pop music hasn’t really evolved a whole lot since then, and it still sounds fresh and like it has aged well to me)
• Circus (this album didn’t seem to follow any major pop music trends from the time that it was released, which helped it not age. Some of the songs are pretty experimental and unique, like Unusual You, Lace & Leather, and Mannequin)

 

Albums that sound dated:

• BOMT (both the bops and the ballads are very 90s sounding)
• Oops (very early 2000s)
• Britney (still very early 2000s except for a few songs like Slave and Boys which sound modern imo)
• Femme Fatale (sooo obviously early 2010s dubstep overproduced EDM pop)
• Britney Jean (sounded dated the day it was released. Pop music was already moving past the overproduced hyper aggressive EDM that was popular 1-2 years before)

Poor Femme Fatale. I don’t get the hate on this site.

Every album is a product of its time. Most albums you can listen to and know what era they’re from. Purple Rain and Rhythm Nation are so clearly from the 80s. CrazyS**yCool could have only come about in the 90s at the height of new jack swing. And let’s be honest: Oops is extreeeemely rooted in the early 2000s. You never hear production like that anymore.

Does that mean they’re not classics? Of course not! Though they incorporate the sounds/productions of their times, they are rooted in great songwriting and performances.

Femme Fatale has some excellent cuts on it, and songs that have outlived the EDM craze at the time.

It’s when these sounds ARE the gimmick that albums don’t age well. I feel like BJ relies too much on beat drops and mask really generic songs, which is why when people lost interest in EDM, the album doesn’t have much left to offer. Plus, themes like “Passenger” haven’t aged well considering the situation Britney was in.
