  1. Shania and Taylor teamed up on a Tik Tok video to discuss country girls going Pop and they gave BIG PROPS to the OG Pop/Country gal Dolly Parton! Love it!! Can we get a collab between these 3 please??!!
  2. Before Taylor straddled the country and pop genres as the Americana Princess, there was Canadian Shania Twain who forged a path from Country to Soft-rock/Pop in the late 90's and early 2000's, spawning 3 DIAMOND ALBUMS. Since her break from music in 2005, Shania has met challenges in achieving the same impact on radio. In 2017, Shania released an album titled NOW, which was her first studio album in 15 years! Needless to say, times have changed and her formula changed. 'NOW' was not met with the same success as her albums from the late 90s and early 2000s. She worked with all new producers since she and her producer-husband split, this resulted in an album that was sonically different from her previous. Her goal on this album seemed to be to continue the genre-bending; instead of producing a separate mix for the pop version and the country version of songs, she attempted to blend genres. With the blending of genres and the production changes, as well as the maturing of Shania's voice, the result was something almost unfamiliar compared to her previous records. Compare "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl" to "Pour Me" - both are a blend of country music with modern dance-pop: So, now we wonder where Shania should go from here: Should she go back to making separate country and pop mixes for songs? Should she release a more stripped-down album and go back to her Country roots? Should she incorporate Hip-Hop and collaborate with a rapper like Billy Ray Cyrus did with "Old Town Road"? What can Shania do to get the public interested in her music again? In 2020, Shania released a few collaborations with younger Country/Pop artists: Also, she performed on television a few times: So now that we know Shania is gearing up for a comeback to music, are you excited? What do you think she should do differently this time to spark up interest in her music? Which genre and style would you like from her? Share your thoughts! <3 Source: Shania stated on ET last year that a new album could be expected by Spring 2021 - let's hope it isn't delayed!
  3. Shania Twain shared nothing but praise for Lady Gaga. In a new interview with Billboard, Shania called Lady Gaga "the most unique, I think, music talents of this generation," before pondering, I wonder what kind of dream she has at night. She does so many unusual, remarkable, artistic, unexpected things in her videos, in her live performances, her art direction, her fashion. One thing that stays consistent though, is her voice." She added: "Then she gets an acting role, starring role, in what would be a huge success, not only as an actress, but as a singer songwriter," Shania continued. "A Star Is Born was a huge box office hit and Lady Gaga won the Oscar for best original song for 'Shallow.' This is a classic. This song will be around in generations to come. No doubt." The way she spilt It sounds like what a stan or a publicist would say Do we agree with Miss Shania y'all?
  4. On January 13, 2003, the 30th American Music Awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles (not to be confused with the 31st AMA's which also took place in 2003). While Britney Spears was completely snubbed from nominations, she was there to present Shania Twain. Related:
  5. This was sweet of Shania to tweet that! Shania previously spoke about the experience: “She was working with my ex-husband in the studio, and I got to say hello while she was in the studio because it was at our home in Switzerland in 1999” said Shania, inciting laughs from the audience during Fuse’s recent interview with her at Spotify HQ in New York City. “She was very sweet. It was a great experience just to get to know her on a behind-the-scenes level a little bit. It was obviously an honor to have her record some of my songwriting...Britney did a beautiful job with the song.”
  6. Shania released a special remastered “Diamond Edition” of her breakthrough album “The Woman in Me” today. The album spawned a whopping 7 singles including the timeless toe-tappers “Any Man of Man, “You Win My Love,” “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” and “(If You're Not in It for Love) I'm Outta Here!” kickstarting her popularity and paving the way for her eventual country-pop crossover and global domination just a few years later. In this new edition, the classic album has been expertly remastered and expanded to include single versions, remixes, live versions and isolated vocal versions of the tracks we all know so well. She’s been re-uploading the music videos from the album recently which have been all been expertly remastered to HD quality and look stunning. Watch the playlist below... “The Woman in Me, Super Deluxe Diamond Edition” available to buy in various formats and stream from today! Shania also recently teamed up with Orville Peck for his latest album, check out my thread about that below...
  7. Between those six divas, who was the most popular female artist spanning the 90s? Not just how many records did each sell but who really dominated the 90s music and pop culture scene OVERALL? I always hear Mariah Carey was regarded as the most 'popular' but when I look at the stats, it seems like Madonna, Whitney and Celine were far more global and popular. ANYWAY - what is the general consensus on this? Who was the most popular female artist during the 90s or how would you rank them? If there is someone I left out, please let me know as well.
  8. Shania Twain teamed up with Orville Peck on "Legends Never Die" from the masked singer's latest EP "Show Pony." “I cannot thank Shania enough for being part of this; she has always been a hero of mine and her music made me feel so empowered growing up,” commented Peck in a statement. “As cliché as it sounds, recording with her and getting to get up on stage and sing with her in Nashville is a dream come true. No words really.” Shania looks incredible in the music video, dressed from the neck down in leopard print, reminiscent of her look in 1998's "That Don't Impress Me Much," as the duo perform to an enthusiastic drive-in crowd.
