It’s crazy how Britney gave up her freedom for the love of her children. She gave up because she knew if she tried to fight back her  children would be taken away.  No wonder that passion and fire that she once had died. A part of her died living in these circumstances for 12 years. Her team are evil and corrupt to do such thing. How they set her up to seem crazy. How they stole 12 years of lost time with her children. I hope she will soon get justice. Lucky her children will son be 18 years old and her team can no longer use her children as a scare tactic. Sadly I don’t think she will ever recover from this trauma. I hope in the future she agrees to do a sit down interview with Oprah and set the record straight to let the public know of the corruption that went own behind closed doors. #JusticeForBritney #FreeBritney

we all pretty much knew but never had someone who actually knew her confirm it. she also wrote in third person because she’s a SMART *** ***** who knew that if the letter leaked, or if he ended up giving the letter to someone, it would be a little harder to prove it’s her if it’s in third person.

I think it proves that she's more naive than I thought. It's her handwriting. How is it hard to prove? Also, is she trying to play the media game or something, and badly at that, writing a letter in her own handwriting, and referring to herself in the third person, like some serial killer psycho, and even bringing up Janet Jackson (like she's brought up Julia Roberts in the past) to supposedly cover her identity in the event the letter got leaked. Seriously?

Surely both of Britney’s siblings Bryan and Jamie Lynn KNOW good and well that their dad is taking advantage of their sister, using the legal situation to control her and make $ for him and many others on payroll. MONEY AND CONTROL. That’s all this conservatorship is about. It was NEVER about helping Britney get back custody of her sons nor was the intent to get Britney help for her mental health so she can someday get back on her feet.

The Spears siblings have got to know the role Larry Rudolph AND Lou Taylor play in all of this. You can’t tell me they’re oblivious to what’s going on, who’s pulling the strings and why!! They are all complicit in this.

I have to agree. Really not trying to be mean, but if the reason for her writing this in the third person was so people wouldn't know its her, but we ALL know that it was her, then it shows how unintelligent and naive she can be. For someone with so much money at their disposal, she has very poor judgment. If it wasn't for her family, who knows where she would be.

It is very common for people who have experienced trauma to write in third person, and there could be many reasons as well for this. Please don't make judgements like that when you don't know anything.

seriously? people think writing in the third person is some sort of measure of intelligence? it's just a style of writing and journalling.

But you are making judgments as well and don't know. Ultimately, a court of law decided that she should be in a conservatorship. We don't have access to her medical records, and hopefully that never gets leaked. I will defer to their judgment since they have all the facts, and judging by things that keep coming out about her, I think they made the right decision for her own health and safety, and that of her children.

She would probably be dead in a ditch by now. She is sweet and all but definitely not the smartest woman in the business, people tend to take advantage of her naivety.

No, I said her writing in the third person to apparently shield her identity if the letter got leaked, when we all know that its her. That shows her naivety.

Maybe Britney wrote this letter in 3rd person because she’s compartmentalizing. It’s possible that she sees herself as two separate entities because that’s how the world views her. The world knows/has an idea of who Britney Spears is but they don’t know Britney. It also may help keep herself grounded if she sees her celebrity persona as another person.

Like there’s Britney then there’s “Britney Spears”. A lot of celebrities do this. They get so famous that they feel they have to separate  themselves from their own celebrity because of the power their name & image has over their life which can be stressful or cause them to feel isolated or othered. Being “Britney Spears” is what she does to make a living (it’s a job) but it’s not who Britney is. That’s one way to interpret it. Or like others said, she wanted him to read it so maybe that’s why she spoke of herself in 3rd person.

There is no problem that she is writing or referring to in the third person. Focus on the content of what she is writing that is important.

She is setting that example because society and the media judged her as a mother and she means "there are people who give their children to their brothers and those people are not judged and I am not worse than them" and that is what she means by the example of Janet, who gave her daughter to her brother to take care of her and now hopes that her daughter does not do the same.

Honestly the biggest proof of the abuse from the past 12 years is in the pudding. How is it possible that in 2008, just MONTHS after her breakdown during For The Record she speaks so eloquently, calm and factually, you can argue shes back to being Britney. An obviously broken yet level headed and calm Britney. She looked healthy, but tired, knowing the cycle was starting again, a cycle she wanted to end. Nonetheless she complies, so not much effort is needed to “control” her. Britney knew her career needed fixing and her image needed cleaning for the sake of her kids at least, she went through with the motions of the Circus era with the pretense she would be freed soon enough.

But when she saw that this “temporary” c-ship wasn’t going to be just for the Circus era as originally told, thats when things got ugly. Another strike to using and tricking her, just to drain money from her. Theres a reason why from the moment the Circus tour ended and she found out she would be in the c-ship indefinitely her condition began getting worse. She wasn’t as compliant and more extreme measures were being take to make sure she was in there control. I’m sure they pumped her full of medications she didn’t NEED to make sure she complied. Which gave us a bloated, tired, anxious Britney during FF, and it has progressively been getting worst. It makes me so angry to think about how her condition has gotten worse because of the same people who are suppose to help her.
