Beyoncé has 32 Grammys. Christina has 5. Shakira has 3. Britney only has 1. Why?

Because Britney simply doesn't pay for awards. She didn't even win a VMA till Piece of Me and those were bought by Team Con for the comeback hype.

Unlike Oscars, Grammys for the most part is a popularity contest. They would give one major award to non famous person and rest to the famous people to make it seem like "Oh we're not trying to fit in like other award shows"

Beyonce has so many awards are because she wins a lot in R&B category where her rivals(pop rivals) don't compete in.  Someone like Lady Gaga is competing with other major pop artists to win a grammy while Beyonce is competing with only R&B artists to get a Grammy. Beyonce has never won an AOTY award fyi.

Some of the responses here, from both sides of the argument, are just ludicrous. For whatever reason, artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are Grammy darlings, it’s just the way it is.

Do I think Beyonce is a massively talented, hard working woman who deserves to be recognized for it? Yes. But I said it before and I’ll say it again, for her to have more Grammys than Prince, Madonna, Mariah, Whitney, and Celine have COMBINED is absolutely ridiculous and for that reason (among others), I cant take the awards seriously.

xtina and shakira have the amount of grammy awards they deserve, tbh. they're very talented.

and as for britney, i said in another thread that she was seen for the longest time (during her peak) as too mainstream/not artsy enough, so it was difficult for her to win. she ended up winning one tho.

Because her father worked in the panel for years and she received grammys even in years that she didn't do shait. 

And that says a lot about the grammies and similar stuff. 

She is known for buying numbers and streams so for me she can get 1000 grammies. 

She is overrated in all aspects.

Beyonce has a bunch because well she literally has put blood sweat & tears in each and every one of her projects like the way the B Army envisions a video for each deep cut, Bey has given a video treatment for each song on most if not all her albums.

I dont think the Grammy's took Britney seriously (unfortunately like a lot of ppl). Ppl were rlly expecting her to take home that Best new artist category too but I can't say Xtina didn't deserve it. I will say tho that everyone ALWAYS underestimates Britney untill she does what she does & now EVERYBODY is tuned in and engaged 100% whether ppl are in awe and loving it which is majority or if ppl just wanna rag on her because " it's cool to bull britney".

You’re aware this is isn’t the Video Music Awards, right? Videos are irrelevant in this case. But if we are going there, in 2004 Britney was the ONLY female artist nominated for both Best Female Video and Video of the Year. Yet Beyonce ended up winning Best Female Video. How in tf does that make any sense? Care to explain that?
