Britneys personal life is overshadowing her return to music

Recommended Posts

I disagree. Even though the media is talking about her personal life they tend to always say “Britney who has a new song rocketing to the top with Elton john”. It’s like when she shaved her head and released “gimme more” the media still talked about the fact she was still releasing hits

Ironically, this has been a natural progression throughout her career. However, social media was non-existent in the late 90's early 2000's and the closest we had to behind the scenes were the shows where the music video process was shared. Plus, she was significantly more active as an artist and so we as a fanbase were inundated with imagery and material. Should she choose to do more, professionally, this topic would end up in the rearview mirror.

Her personal life is also what has kept her relevant and a top Google Trend 24 years into her career. Its the same thing that Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Elvis had. When you are an aged popular star, you either stick around because you are still a hot topic, stick around because you just relentlessly chase fads and trends, or you wither away and become a flop. No one is going to be giving a veteran pop star the Dua Lipa or Olivia Rodrigo treatment, but both of them would be lucky to have Britneys career relevancy in 20 years.

What about Beyonce she's been here since 2003

Also in 2011-2018 Britney was relevant but no one was talking about the conservatorship

His family ks exposing her in order to sabotage what she's doing, for me it's a way of manipulation. They still want to control her, and what she does which is stupid because she's a grown woman.

The fact that all of them are coming just one by one atacking her proves that they still want to take control over her, but why!? That's the relevance here!? Why they are obsessed on control her money!? It's sad but all of them think that she owns something to them and that she has to provide the money.

All this desperate attacks are because they are afraid of what it might come on the future.

Beyonce jumps on trends. She just does it in a much more classy way than say, Madonna. In the last 3-4 years, she has collabed with Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Megan the Stallion, Bruno Mars, J Balvin, hell, she collabed with Lady Gaga early on when Gaga had just released Poker Face and Bad Romance basically back to back, and then dumped the song after Gaga's star dimmed.

A singer's star power makes a HUGE difference in their ability to chart, to score hits, etc. The reason Christina Aguilera is not making infectious song after infectious song is proof of that. She has a phenomenal voice and name recognition, however, because she is not in demand, hit songwriters aren't sending her A-list material. They are sending those songs to younger and newer stars (Chloe, Halsey, *insert latest Tik Tok fad here*; high risk, high reward) OR proven hitmakers like Rihanna, Arianna, Dua Lipa (low risk, medium-high reward). This same pattern follows for willingness of top 40 radio stations to spin your tracks, record labels to promote and pay for higher playlisting, willingness of top marketing firms to pull out all the stops or best ideas for your project. It's a cycle of failure when the industry smells you as a flop and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Britney being on everyone's lips and in all the tabloids basically puts her at the same level as Rihanna and Dua. For producers, they know that whatever they make for Britney will get attention (which is what they all want). For record labels, they will want to invest more. Radio stations are more interested to spin her records, etc.

This is why there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Beyonce had to come up with that fake story about Jay Z cheating on her to sell Lemonade and it worked for her. I remember there was so much drama going on

And let's not forget when she announced her pregnancy at the VMA's ..... if it's not attention seeking then what is it ?

Because by your standard, showing your 🐱 to the paps is somehow less attention seeking? Why does this thread have to become about Beyoncé? For people who dislike her so much you all love to bring her up so often… and the gag is Britney and Beyoncé grew up in this industry together and have an insane amount of respect for one another.

Beyoncé and Britney are respected entertainers. They entertain people… they don’t look for attention. They simply get it for being talented and having sensationalized personal lives. It shouldn’t matter to you what they both do. Besides, a lot of Lemonade isn’t even about Jay Z, it’s a whole album cycle with visuals touching on various topics.

Wasnt Blackout also in part alluding to her personal life? Didn’t Britney announce her pregnancy on David Letterman? Stop with the hypocrisy and let people do what they want. They both have autonomy as artists and people

Her personal life always has..

BOMT, OIDIA and Britney were all about her ***ual image and the controversy around her Lolita style. Whether she was a virgin etc, her relationship with Justin.

2002 and ITZ were all about her rebellious side, vegas wedding, s** life,

GH, Chaotic was all about calling her trailer trash, smoking, her parenting skills

BO - don’t even know need to go into details on this one

Even Circus was all about her come back and return to “normal”. It’s only post conservatorship that her personal life didn’t overshadow and that’s only because they didn’t allow her to have a personal life.

No more truth has been said. People out of the fanbase care and know little about her music nowadays.

And by nature, pop stars are designed to fade
