To tie in an album to a film that didn't even get to movies in small town America. 

 

I had to rent Crossroads to watch it first, hell Big fat liar with Frankie Muniz and Amanda bynes had a bigger wider release..

They failed in the US, but clearly not in Europe. She has top 10 hits in the UK and germany from that era.

I have a love hate relationship with the Britney album. It’s actually in my top 3 but as a tie strictly because the bonus tracks were worlds better than the crap that is anticipating and that’s where you take me.  I wish THOSE were bonus tracks. Before the goodbye and I run away are flawless and SHOULD have been on the tracklist

I think “fail” in the US is a stretch. Yes, Slave was the only top 40 hit, but with the radio ban in effect, the chart success of her singles don’t really capture the actual popularity of the songs and the album here. The album itself was still a #1 smasher and she was still the biggest pop act here.

Bombastic Love was my FAVORITE song from the album! That was until When I Found You made its way online (thank you international fans!)

Literally most of the album could have been a single, its a blast to listen beggining to end, and she was everywhere back then, it was glorious

BL is catchy and I like it. It is not single material though. It did need a better intro to kick off the song.

Bombastic was a vocab word at the time and my teacher said it is pronounced bom bastic, not boom bastic.

I still pronounced it like Brit.

In the US. Outside of the US the singles were pretty big and in Latin America i must say i feel like that was her strongest era. It was Britneymania!!

The whole album is a masterpiece. My favorite from her. So many songs could have been singles.

I love rock n roll should have never happened. It’s the only song I don’t like.

Lonely and Let Me Be were wasted. I love Bombastic and Anticipating, but the other two were far superior and gave material for amazing visuals and attitude. I hate NAG, that was so cheesy. Should have never been a single.
