I would say that Ariana is a contender for new princess of pop but I wouldnt give her that title yet. Lady Gaga is a different kind of pop star to me and I think shes in her own lane...Madonna is and will always be the Queen of Pop. Britney is and will always be the Princess of Pop. All four of these women are different lol.

I didn’t say that lady Gaga nessecarily dethroned Madonna. I just “might have” because I already know this is enough of a controversial topic most of the people I know who aren’t strong fans of lady Gaga loved the song  the song has received 90 million streams, has so far sold 1.02 million within a month, and might have had a strong free fall in the charts, but is still in the charts and isn’t bubbling under hot 100 but who knows, sometimes the 2nd singles of an era turn out more successful than the first one, so maybe we can expect the next singles for a Ariana’s or BLACKPINK video which might end up more successful

I'm sorry, but implying that Gaga's career ended in 2012 is ridiculous, she had Applause, a #4 on the Hot 100 back in 2013 that has gone 5x platinum in RIAA, had Million Reasons, a 3x platinum single that peaked at #4 in 2017, (the one she already has almost 500M of streams on Spotify). ARTPOP and Joanne gone platinum in the US for 1M copies sold. Stupid Love another top 5 having leaked 40 days before launch. she's much better in charts than Britney was in Blackout / Circus, and pretend that she's over since 2012 it's the same to say that Britney was over in 2004.

but you said the chances of that happening are more likely than ariana dethroning britney, when ariana is more successful than gaga currently and madonna is more successful than britney currently.

Jessica Simpson has also talked about this in her book. That she realized that the people she should be more angry more is the higher ups that intentionally create false competition just to get them to be catty towards each other. In their eyes, it makes good business and strokes their ego. I mean look how Larry calls the shots behind the scenes and Britney taking the blame for it in the front lines. It’s easy for him to book this and that and cram as much gigs as he can without thinking the consequences or cares because he’s not the one putting on skimpy outfits and dancing on stage.
