  1. I know this article is from *another time* (early January 2004) when sl**-shaming and the patriarchy were not widely discussed concepts, but oof...it reads as so bonkers today. Basically the article suggests that ***ual explicitness by female artists is one of the reasons for declining sales. Here's a screenshot of the article when it was in print. A condensed version can be read here. I just had to round up the most hilarious quotes: Why would Alicia Keys and Norah Jones be "vamping it up" when they were in different genres? Never mind that Britney and Xtina co-wrote/produced multiple tracks on ITZ and Stripped. Wasn't Slave 4 U during the time Clear Channel wasn't playing her songs? And yeah she would be more "wholesome" during BOMT because she was just 16 then.
  2. Bionic is Christina Aguilera's sixth studio album. It was released on June 4, 2010. The album debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 and number one in the UK. It has sold over 1.15 million tracks in the United States and is certified Gold. The album produced four singles "Not Myself Tonight," "Woohoo," "You Lost Me" and " I Hate Boys." However, only "Not Myself Tonight" and "You Lost Me" had music videos recorded and "I Hate Boys" was released exclusively in Oceania. Bionic was inspired by Christina's love of electronic subgenres and described as futurepop by many critics. In a recent interview she stated that Bionic is "all about being unabashedly yourself." Exhale, is Bionic still ahead of it's time? Let's celebrate! What's your favorite track from this electropop masterpiece?
  3. Update: Grammy-winning songwriter-producer Federico Vindver says Xtina's new album will be out this year. Earlier: Christina Aguilera lands in the new issue of Health magazine. She talks about the new music. You're back in the studio—can we expect a new album? great photoshop. Related:

  7. So I always see this picture on my Facebook feed and I thought she was promoting something until today I finally paid attention to what it was, and it turns out it's an ad, so it's not coming from her page. I don't know if the post embeds, but here it is: link Has anyone tried taking singing lessons with the legendary, ahead-of-her-time, Xtina? Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by MasterClass

  10. On March 27, 2001 Lady Marmalade was released as part of the soundtrack as the lead single of the movie Moulin Rouge!'s soundtrack. The song was an all-girl collaboration between Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mýa and Pink. It also featured Missy Elliott, who co-produced the track along with Rockwilder. The song was written by Bob Crewe and Kenny Lonan and it was originally performed by Labelle, released in 1974 as the lead single of their album Nightbirds. The 2001 track also credits Kimberly Jones (Lil' Kim) as a co-writer, since it includes her rap which gives it a modern twist. The song reached #1 on the BBH100 and remained there for 5 weeks, becoming the ninth song in history to top the chart by different artists (Labelle's version also reached the #1 26 years prior). It was also the third airplay-only song to top the chart (Aaliyah's Try Again and Shaggy's Angel). It's also the longest reigning number one on the Top 40 chart for an all-female collaboration (9 consecutive weeks) and by the end of 2001 it had already sold 5.2M copies worldwide, hitting #1 in 15 other countries. A music video was directed by Paul Hunter and it was filmed in Los Angeles. It features all the singers in lingerie, in a cabaret-style set that resembles the Moulin Rouge club. It was choreographed by Tina Landon. A Making the video episode was done for MTV. The video won the MTV Video Music Award for "Best Video of the Year" and "Best Video from a Film". It also landed at #5 on the yearly Top 100 of 2001 on MTV Latin America. The song also won a Grammy in 2002 for "Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals". It was performed live at the MTV Movie Awards and at the Grammy's Related:
  11. I really understand why celebrities close to Britney did not speak before, because they did not know the facts, and it looked like a conspiracy. But now with the documentary and how mainstream all this is, its weird that Christina Aguilera and Madonna are silent on this! How can someone as big as Ariana Grande support Free Britney, while celebrities close to Britney are silent or against her?
  12. Entertainment Tonight (ET) released a 2003 video where Paris and Nicky Hilton interview Christina Aguilera at her 2003 Jeremy Scott runway debut. Christina discussed her then new video Fighter, touring with Justin, and the Dirrtyyy video. Christina looked fierce! Three words: Adidas with heels.
  13. So I’m listening to Stripped by Christina Aguilera and it made me remember begging my mom to take me to FYE to buy it on release date. I then proceeded to tell her to skip straight to track 16. Those who are Dirrty will know what track that is Anyways, I proceeded to look up the vinyl and it’s harder to find than the original Baby vinyl and I need it in my life. I realized her vinyls have similar demand to Britney and I was shook. I had to settle for self-titled picture disc so tell me what vinyls you wish you had bought or those that you completely missed out on. *if anyone has one I will trade you a couple of original Blackout vinyls
  14. Because of copyright, we can't include the YouTube video. It's out there
  15. Update: Xtina shared a glimpse of her recording! Earlier: Christina Aguilera says she plans on releasing her Spanish-language album this year. It's worth reminding you she's been saying this since 2018, so maybe don't hold your breath. Related:
  16. Once a *********, always a *********! https://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/120075989.html
  17. Christmas queen Exhale, did you like her performance of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Xmas" more than "The Christmas Song?" Related:
  18. So today, MTV showed the craziest TRL moments, and it included a clip of the host asking Xtina about her shading Britney in blender magazine. I had never heard this before, but the quote is: “Well, I feel I’ve grown a lot this year, and we did used to be friends once, after all. She seems to me like a lost little girl, someone who desperately needs guidance. But who knows? maybe I’m not the right person to offer it. We’re very different people, aren’t we? In our world, there are different types of entertainers. You have your artists and you have your regular performers. I’m an artist, and, well…” Christina Aguilera aka the FLOP OF POP should’ve been cancelled immediately following this. And to think I just made a thread a couple of weeks ago saying they need to collaborate. Heres the full article if you want to read it. She also says Britney refused to kiss her (yeah, in 2002/2003 Xtina was pretty raunchy, had nasty unwashed hair, pencil thin eyebrows, was touring with Justin Timberlake, and was hooking up with Carson Daly, etc. so I’m glad Britney didn’t kiss her) https://www.madonnatribe.com/decade/2003/xtina-on-madonna-britney-and-the-kiss-in-blender-magazine/
  19. Christina Agee Christina Aguilera says record execs at the start of her career wanted to rename her to that. I- “I remember when I was first coming up, there was a big debate around me on changing my last name because all the businessmen around me thought it was too long, too complicated, and too ethnic,” Christina told Billboard. “‘Christina Agee‘ was an option, but that clearly wasn’t going to fly. I was dead set against the idea and I wanted to represent who I really was. Being Latina, it is a part of my heritage and who I am,” she added. “There was another time in my childhood when I was being asked to legally change my name to my stepfather’s to be legally adopted and I was again dead set against it,” Christina said. “I’ve been fighting for my last name my whole life.” Can you imagine if she went by that and not Aguilera?!
