Goldberry: “Christina and Britney were up for Best New Artist at the 2000 #Grammys , but it didn't go the way people may have expected”

I’m going to say it again. Christina is an artist, singer and songwriter. Since 2001 she’s been doing what she wants. As a person and artist she has had more success. In the end nobody cares about 3 or 4 number ones in the US. Meanwhile Britney is a puppet since 1999 and has nothing

Though Britney was a "puppet" Xtina didn't stand a chance with her. :smokney_britney_smoke_cigarette_chaotic_2004_exhale_blow:

"Since 2001 she’s been doing what she wants." Yeah, releasing bad music and oversinging it while sounding terrible.

And yet, Christina continued to make a living for herself (more than what I’m sure any of us have in our lives), released music on her terms, became a mother and continues to live life on her own terms.

We can flash Britney’s PAST accolades all we want but at the end of the day, does any of it matter? Look at her now…reduced to controversy and struggles, posting nude pics and stirring up drama from bitter memories.

So who exactly is the “loser” here?

Fans who continue to downplay Christina and cling on to Britney’s legacy remind me of those people who peak in high school then fall into oblivion and can’t seem to get out of their high school prom queen world.

And Xtwinka doesn’t even have a legacy to begin with!

Best new artist at the grammys isnt about popularity and who will succeed more, its about awknowledging new artists with great talent.

Christina is this generation voice, and one of the best voices ever, and considering the Grammys care about vocals, it make sense that Christina won over Britney.

But also, why are you thinking about Christina? And reading the comments, you guys sound like mentally ill children!

Christina has a great voice no doubt but you can’t be this generations voice when your solo career peaked in 2006 (and I’m being generous), Im sorry. And if the Grammys cared so much about vocals, why does Beyonce have more than Whitney, Mariah, Celine, and Christina combined? They were/are all better vocalists.

Her voice is too good that she was named the voice of the generation dispite her career not being huge.

And the Grammys do care about vocals, but it also does has its own politics, and it changed alot since back then.

Ok but by whom? Who besides her fanbase refers to her as the voice of the generation?

And how exactly has it changed since back then? For gods sakes, flukes like Milli Vanilli and Baha Men won Grammys but actual legendary acts like Diana Ross, Queen, Tupac, and Jimi Hendrix have none. The Grammys were always bulls**t.
