Idk what the purpose of Sweet Jamie Music was, but here's the biz filing for it:

I think this might have been used for her master recordings.

Which is what I think Miss Britney Recording is for. I learned while speaking with people who were subject matter experts for trademark law online that her trademarks would not protect her music. Which is great news for Britney as it means any new music released would likely stay between her and Sony/RCA. Even though the company is ****ty, imo.

But I think someone (Probably Lou, since Jamie is going bankrupt) retains ownership over some of her old masters, because UMG said they dont own all of her music and haven't always been completely exclusive.

I'm busy working on an assignment on "cyber-fascism" right now so I'll check in on this thread in a bit.

If I can find it.

If you're still here you mean, especially if you carry on ignoring the rules and making snide remarks about moderation and moderators :shameless_blush_blonde_hair_stroke_proud:

Clearly making snide comments about the actions of moderators.

As mentioned previously, any issues raise them privately or WPs will be awarded if this conversation continues publicly :typing_keyboard_computer:

Is there any room for discussion here?  I don't want to make enemies of mods, but I am a little baffled by this kind of show of force.

@Steel Magnolia thank you for amazing research threads! Your research throughout the last three years has brought real legitimacy to the free Britney movement. I certainly have benefited from learning about the legalities surrounding this case. Between you, and the many fans, lawyers, and doctors who have watched this case to prove the ethics and connections and all corrupt. As Britney and Rosengart have both stated, the fans have helped the case insanely.

It’s truly disgusting how corrupt the courts have been when the evidence is all on public record ….. Lou and Jamie’s connections with the “business management” of tri Star were always based in making an income for themselves. They wanted to ride the wave of Britney (and I guess here Jamie) and make a name for themselves. The minute the bread maker gets overwhelmed (bring Britney) it was time for this pre-existing connection to take over Britney’s life and finances. Lou and Jamie liked the money and control all along

It's been a collaborative effort, for sure! I'm just the conduit (to use Mr. Lutfi's term) who connects all of the work of the individual researchers. At least that's the way I look at it.

Hopefully we can keep going, because this case is going to take years to work its way through the courts. The story is so vast that Rosengart, Kroll, and the rest of the legal team are going to need all the help they can get. Nobody knows the little ins and outs of the story like the stans!

Are you speaking specifically about JL's masters here?

This is fascinating, and something that had never occurred to me.

I've been trying to get clairity from some trademark lawyers and whatnot online cause I'm stumped on my research for a video. Her music itself has nothing to do with the trademarks. Thats (potentially) great news for Britney! (I just dont really care for Sony). What is also great news for Britney is that HMC has not been used to show trademark use so it likely does not have anything to do with the registered marks.

We only can find out so much about the audio recordings- (this info isn't always public) but it would be separate from the trademarks.

That being said- you'll find a lot of these new Britney products she never promotes ever ARE actually mentioned in the filings for the word marks to prove they are in use. Britney has several dead trademarks that don't belong to her.

What I cannot understand is the role that "musical works" play in this.

A musical work isn't the song itself- but the album art, music video or CDs and music services.

You'll find all her album covers are used to show trademark use- this could mean the songs belong to MBR (Miss Britney Recording) and that that company was used to authorize use to Universal on the songs and whoever the cover art is supposed to belong to?

I just don't know what this means for Britneys new music and whatnot. Obviously Team con has nothing to do with her music at this point- according to my research so far- that she releases moving forward. But is she in trouble if she uses her name on new releases and even her book? I am at a standstill.

Greetings, Super Sleuths,

This topic may be moved over to the "Exhale Members Only" section with some of the other research threads, but we'll see how this goes...

We know that songs from Blackout were recorded at the newly constructed studio inside the Maloofs' Palms Casino in Las Vegas.

Brilliant researcher @Mx_Defying has recently come across an article stating that:

"The Maloof Brothers, Sacramento’s former playboy owners, created Maloof Productions during their high-flying mid-2000’s heyday. Their highest-profile music signing was Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister to Britney, though she never released an album with them, possibly due to her teen pregnancy..."

We know that on January 18, 2005, James P. Spears changed the name of his company "Develop & Design Build, Inc." to "Spears Management, Inc." James was the President and sole shareholder, and the documents are signed in Venice, California.

We know that on December 6, 2005, a new recording studio opened at The Palms in Las Vegas. George Maloof built the studio at the suggestion of Larry Rudolph.

We know that by August 5, 2006, Jamie Lynn Spears was a client of Tri Star Sports & Entertainment Group.

We know that on August 30, 2006, Sweet Jamie Music, Inc., owned by Jamie Lynn Spears, officially underwent a "Change of Officer." Lynne Spears became the President and Treasurer, and James Spears became the Secretary.

We also know that on December 11, 2006, James Spears’ company, Spears Management, Inc., was registered as a “foreign corporation” in the state of California. The address of the principal executive office was c/o TriStar, 215 Ward Circle, Suite 200, Brentwood, TN, 37027. The principal office in the State of California was listed as 10945 Bluffside Drive #138, Studio City, CA, 91604. The document was signed by James P. Spears, President.

We can likely assume that James Spears, who at the time was a chef for the Maloofs, signed a recording contract with Maloof Productions on behalf of his daughter, who was a minor...Just as he had done for Britney on October 10, 1997.

It may not seem evidence on the surface, but this small part of the story is a puzzle piece that fits into the larger story of Britney's conservatorship.

Can any of you help with locating this recording contract?
