This album was amazing. It was so great to have a good dance/pop album among all the wretched trap and whatever they call the current popular music style right now.

Sad to see the songs just remind her of dark times, but I understand.

There’s 90s dance music that doesn’t sound that dated.   Future Nostalgia is inspired by disco music but it sounds current.  You can do both.

@Prachican tell you the industry executives are number obsessed and far an artist like gaga who hasn't had a flop, it would be a blow to her. 

 

Even Madonna was told in 1992 Erotica Album sold 5 Million worldwide and 2 Million in the US and she was told it was a flop cos of her past sales and success. And like she asked who's to say it's a flop based on what. 

 

She even said it's not her fault people rejected it. But nearly 30 years later Erotica is getting its flowers, but I don't know any other artist outside Madonna getting that treatment with a full apology as well from the press and the industry as well. 

She had a good run. She more than delivered as a pop star and then ventured into other genres and then film. It’s only natural that stars eventually fade out. I for one am glad cuz I can’t stand the pretence.

How was it not her fault though? She released the Sex book around the same time as Erotica and both were clearly meant to tie into each other. If people weren't keen on Erotica back then it was probably a side effect of the Sex book's controversy, which iirc included a paedo-esque poem and had a photo that implied simulated oral sex between her and a dog.  Like, who wouldn't raise an eyebrow at that?

I mean..Wrecking Ball for example was so painful for Miley yet she never not performed it.

Perhaps I am being selfish but if you aren't hurt enough to cash in big bucks from your wounds but you are to perform them, then something doesn't add up....

They do, but in a way, as much as I liked Gaga's embrace of mental health and vulnerability, this particular issue seems hypocritical. You write and release songs to then, less than a year and a half later, claim it's too much?sounds stupid. She could have kept the songs to herself just as therapy. She has been in the business too long to not unserstand what happens when you release songs.

Gaga is trying to be everything to everyone (as Joanne and a Star is Born soundtrack showed) and now her music is just generic. The last time she was real was artpop. Twas fun while it lasted
