It could've been cut from the album because The Red Hot Chilli Peppers had their song Otherside debut in 1999 as well.

I honestly don’t get why they didn’t get keep this voice and her sultry voice on the BOMT track. The extreme baby voice after this era never sounded good to me.

These vocals are very unique and great. And the BOMT track vocals would’ve fit with her image that got ***ier over the years. She would’ve still stood out with this voice.

Well, it did sound good to millions of people who fell in love with it.

Tbh I'm addicted to Britney's "baby voice" and I'm almost sure she wouldn't have been as successful if they made her sing in a lower register.

It doesn't matter which voice is more or less natural, or better worse in terms of technique, sonically, it just sounds perfect as a whole product with the instrumentals and different layers.

 

It's like Cher's Believe, people may argue that she could've perfectly sung it without the auto-tune, but it just wouldn't have had the same impact

….that wouldn’t be a good reason. Artists release songs with similar names all the time. Britney and Katy Perry both had album tracks called “Mannequin” in 2008 for example.

Also keep in mind, not even the BSB in their prime released an entire Cheiron record despite being their best selling act at the time. It's also possible the US division simply weren't willing to pay for a full Max Martin album for a then unproven artist they had just signed 

That makes sense.

This probably was one of the last songs they recorded and just cut it.

Honestly though I prefer this song over Beat Goes On and Soda Pop but that's just my opinion.
