Her voice is soulful and deep. Her first album was success for that reason. Even all the 98-99 live shows her voice was beautiful. Then over the years she focused more on her dancing rather than singing.  Then smoking too has had an impact on her voice. She has a naturally gifted unique voice... very distinctive. Wish she took care of it more.

You know she stopped singing like this because her label wanted her to use the baby voice more? Doubt it was the smoking. She's been smoking since she was like 13, she said so in her book.

After years of smoking and singing on a full time basis, the voice changes drastically.
