Was Britney Railroaded into Rehab? : A Research Thread

I need to comb through the entire "Pre-CON" thread for dates...But here's a new entry for our Chronological Timeline:

Key Dates:

Dec. 1, 2007 - Bryan Spears remains the President of the Britney Spears Foundation, having signed the 2006 tax return with a female accountant from Tennessee.

Dec. 14, 2007 - Dan Dymtrow's lawyers, including Vivek Gupta, file a complaint against Taylor Swift and her parents in a New York court to recover monies for, "unjust enrichment, breach of contract and implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, promissory estoppel and estoppel in pais, and tortious interference with prospective economic opportunity." Gupta's business address is listed as Apt. 803 in the Silk Building.

I need to tweak the first entry...

Because the address of the Britney Spears Foundation was also Apt. 803 in the Silk Building.

Where where did you find that #803 was the Britney Spears Foundation? I’ve been looking for receipts for the address of the BS Foundation.

I was just about to say...By 2007 it is no longer the Silk Building. It is Richard Feldstein's address.

Where can I find all of the tax filings for the Foundation? Was the link posted in the "Pre-CON" thread?

They are in the law library! Search “Britney spears foundation” the address for the tax filing was always the biz managers.  But this isn’t the foundation’s office address. There in all likelihood was an office address for the foundation—I can’t find it though.

This was an amazing find!

Adding to this, here is one of the original docs for the purchase of apartment 803. Date was Dec 1, 2000 (or Dec 22, 2000). Bert Padell had a power of attorney and was acting on behalf of One More Time Music, Inc.  So is it fair to assume the Britney in some form owned this apartment until 2011?

Yeah, and it seems like it was used as a private office for the Britney Spears Foundation until its demise.  Then it was used for Dan Dymtrow's attorney in 2007??

@Ghoulia  Do you know where we can find a source for the office address of the Foundation?

Yes! There is accounting shenanigans with this donation! It was $300k-$400k.

This shenanigan was curtesy of Bert Padell….elegant, masterful. The shenanigan was reversed in 2003 or 2004 after an audit by Straus & Herzog.

So Rudolph & DeBeer still received mail addressed to the Foundation after Larry was fired as manager?

Wait wait so the Britney Spears Foundation's address was also Larry Rudolph's office address? Is that a common thing?

Making connections...

...

Dec. 2, 2006 - Britney turns 25, which is the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act (UMTA) age of majority in the state of Florida if the transferer/parent chooses. Otherwise, the age of majority in Florida is 21-years old.

Dec. 14, 2006 - Richard Feldstein, a trustee of the Love Shack Trust, assists in the purchase of a house located at 12094 Summit Circle in Beverly Hills.

Dec. 26, 2006 - Britney's business manager, Pat Marchese of RHF Management Group, LLC, makes a final payment of $58,301.00 on "2004 commissions" to Wright Entertainment Group (WEG). The cheque is issued by the SJB Revocable Trust c/o RHF Management Services, LLC, located at 10100 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 1300, Los Angeles, CA 90067.

...

Was Richard Feldstein's RHF Management Services, LLC fired by Britney following her 25th birthday?

Is this why the payments to WEG stopped?

Is this why it was necessary to intervene legally by railroading her into rehab via the "carrot on a stick" of physical custody of her children?

Who was hired to replace Feldstein?

And was Howard Grossman hired by Lutfi in August 2007 in an attempt to reign the situation in?

EDIT:

More connections...

Sean Phillip has told us that Britney did not have access to her funds or her house during this time period. She did not know the gate codes (to either the Malibu property or the Summit property, I'm not sure which), and by the time she was between rehab stays in February 2007 she had lost the black Amex card "belonging to her management" and was down to half an account number scrawled on a piece of paper. By that point, she couldn't even book a hotel room.

How does this play into the above scenario?

EDIT #2...

Dec. 31, 2006 - By the end of this year, the Britney Spears Foundation is in a deficit of close to $200,000.

So...

We know that the mailing address of the Britney Spears Foundation was Apt. 803.

Bryan Spears' personal mailing address also appears as if it could have been Apt. 803.

The Foundation fell under the umbrella of the SJB Revocable Trust.

...

What was the relationship between Bryan Spears and RHF Management Services?

Did Bryan have the ability to issue directions to RHF as "top cop" of Britney's finances?

EDIT #3...

Cross-posting this research thread about Apt. 803 for any journalists who might be following:

EDIT #4:

I've added a question above.

...

Was Richard Feldstein's RHF Management Services, LLC fired by Britney following her 25th birthday?

Is this why the payments to WEG stopped?

Is this why it was necessary to intervene legally by railroading her into rehab via the "carrot on a stick" of physical custody of her children?

I keep coming back to the fact that by december 2006 when she was already 25 she didn't have real access to her own money to the point she didn't carry her own credit card. How can that be? Did Larry/her team/family manage her life that much, that even after being married and having kids she couldn't regain control? Is this part of the reason she wanted to distance herself from her family and Larry? Even more, is this part of the reason she tried to escape that kind of control by marrying, thinking this would be her get out of jail card (not to say she didn't love kevin, I do think she did), and is this tug of war for control of Britney's life why her team told her she had to file for divorce in late 2006?

Feels like December 2006 was the moment when everything came to a point of no return, like different things were brewing behind the scenes for a while, financially and personally but right then and there some ingredient was added and that's when the recipe for disaster started definitely happening.

I've found three different addresses for the Foundation...so far.

  1. Vivian Lewit (who was originally with Rudolph & DeBeer and who was on the intervention calls in Feb. 2007) registered it.
  2. Larry's law firm was receiving the mail until March 20, 2005.
  3. I don't know who occupies the third address...yet.

I'm dealing with a black mold problem so will be on the road again this week moving the contents of my apartment, but I'll be shacked up in a hotel room tonight and will try to tackle this. I think we can track who was receiving the mail between 2004 and 2022 thanks to the Wayback Machine.

EDIT:

The earliest date for the Wayback Machine is February 2, 2004 and Larry's law firm was receiving donations at that time:

Here's How You Can Help

The Britney Spears Foundation welcomes contributions of any size. Your money will be used to help finance a number of programs with a common purpose: to help children in need.

Donation checks should be payable to:

New York, NY 10016

Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20040202023050/www.britneyspears.com/foundation-bsf.php

On March 28, 2005 the address had changed to:

Here's How You Can Help

The Britney Spears Foundation welcomes contributions of any size. Your money will be used to help finance a number of programs with a common purpose: to help children in need.

Donation checks should be payable to:

The Britney Spears Foundation
24-32 Union Square East, 4th Floor
New York, NY 10003

Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20050328020438/www.britneyspears.com/foundation-bsf.php

[Note: I haven't been able to verify whose address this is yet.]

EDIT #2:

So...

Some time between March 20 and March 28, 2005, the mailing address of the Foundation changed from Larry's law firm to someone else.

Here's the last date that it shows up for Rudulph & DeBeer:

https://web.archive.org/web/20050320012951/www.britneyspears.com/foundation-bsf.php

EDIT #3:

The Foundation's mailing address remained the same until April 5, 2007. After this date the website is pulled offline and the page is no longer available:

There are no captures on the Wayback Machine for the next six months, and then on October 3, 2007 we get this:

Yes, and after the Rudolph & Beer firm dissolved in 2003 https://www.indiewire.com/2003/07/rudolph-beer-to-head-film-practice-at-greenberg-traurig-79582/

Though I suppose Larry could have kept the same office space there (432 Park Ave South) after his partner left.

I looked through all of the Wayback machine's pages for the Britney Spears Foundation - saw the 432 Park Ave S & 24-32 Union Square addresses, no 803.  Why did I think the Foundation used the Silk Building address? Maybe because of the notation on the 2003 990 form https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QLA3gt5L0LGjFTNoBpdpyIesZERMJC8_/view?usp=sharing

"The Foundation was charged an amount for rent of its office space; however, a payment was made directly from Britney Spears to ReignDeer Entertainment to cover rent expenses as a donation to the Foundation. The office space was never occupied rent-free."  -> maybe this was 432 Park Ave S, the old Rudolph & Beer office.
