Jamie Lynn closes her book with: "Britney’s description about the way she has been managed and treated does nothing to break the cycle"

She has no regard for anyone but herself and constantly plays the victim. I’m so sad about this whole situation. 
 

How could Britney break the cycle while being controlled and manipulated her whole life and basically in prison the past 13 years. Juno did nothing to help and is acting like some sort of saviour… I can’t wait till Brit sets things straight.

The way she and her family look upon mental illness is truly draconian and despicable. When you have a loved one struggling with anxiety, depression, or more, you do not get ANGRY with them when this is revealed to you--you show compassion and try to help. She appears mad at Britney for having her own struggles instead of sympathetic and it is sad. Jamie Lynn is the one who had done nothing to break the cycle. Rather than reaching out with modern understanding compassion openness and love she shunned her sister for her struggles and only saw how Britney's struggles impacted herself. She clearly comes from a world where being vulnerable humble and genuine are seen as weaknesses--i.e the Lou impact--and remains oblivious to the fact that those values are what made Britney a true household name from the inception of her music career.

Beautifully said. All the way down to the "Lou impact" and the reason why Britney has always stood out from her family and in the music industry itself. Somewhere along the way vulnerability was lost among these people and replaced with gaslighting and narcissism. The fact that Britney still is as empathetic as she is today is a miracle, honestly.

Her testimony did break the cycle …. The cycle of Lou and your dad getting to take her money and control her life and prevent her from even having her own attorney.

That statement is meant to sound enlightened, but is absolutely meaningless. Like wtf. She broke the cycle by speaking out, getting public support, getting a lawyer and having the conservatorship dissolved. I was talking with a friend and realized I believe Jamie Lynn has a bit of the "Aaron Carter syndrome"(although even he was more of a star in his own right with songs I can recall)...i.e...the younger sibling grows up being brought along to all their successful older sibling gigs and to compensate for a life truly revolving around the older siblings career, the artist and their family, and everyone doting on them at various promotional stops, do their most to tell them they too are a future "star". I'm sure Jamie Lynn was told many times how she would be an even bigger star than her sister while sitting in the green room waiting for Britney to finish working. And it is actually likely that Jamie Lynn's career began on All That due to Britney's various prior appearances on that show and Lynne's networking skills combined with Nickelodeon likely being extremely receptive to throwing some money at a younger Spears in order to secure future promotional appearances from Britney. Her delusion and narcissism were cultivated by industry professionals and her family for their own gain as well.

She truly is the one who needs to break the cycle. But she chooses, as a free woman, to perpetuate this. She has a beautiful family and a good life but remains deeply bitter she never achieved her "manifest destiny". Very Trumpian. She rewrites history to suit her narrative and avoids humble pie as if she were deathly allergic to it.

Obviously this book was written recently but not as if it was right after Britney was dragging Jamie. Clearly her family either saw the writing on the wall and the money was going to stop, or they wanted to have another way to make Britney seem like the problem. The only other thing is they wanted to punish her for wanting out of this. So sick to see.
