What makes a flop song a flop song?

A song that doesn't chart. I think we forget that charting means a song is impacting and connecting somewhere no matter how "low" the song might be it is still and incredible feat to chart. Even on the lower end of the charts those songs are still massively connecting. Quality depends on who you ask but charting no matter where means you're reaching a massive amount of people who love your song and that's their ideal of quality. People's opinions lie, are biased and change over time but charts do not.

Trollz made a record today. The shortest span on the billboard hot 100 for a #1 single ever. Just a month on the charts.

The album sold 280k in its first week and debuted at no.1, was the 11th best selling album (merely missed the top 10) of 2008. had a no.1 hit, and sold 4 million copies WW which for a act thats been performing for 3 decades is pretty good  

Not to mention the sticky & sweet tour which became the highest grossing female tour
