In the streaming era Especially the ADD era of music. The old school marketing is over. It's literally about recording songs and releasing them. However artists Like Madonna,  Mariah,  Britney and Janet. All from the pure sales era has a different audience that is willing to wait a few years. 

 

But the streaming generation. Even @JordanMiller knows this. You have to feed them constantly and consistently to avoid boredom or them moving on. Even billboard wrote the an article. This generation has a short attention spans. Songs have to be a little under 3 minutes. No instrumental breaks or whatever. It's a different generation were dealing with. You can't even tell a story or have a complex video..
