3) The host sucks. He's annoying as all hell. I can't stand him. 

4) The fake lounge singing is annoying too as since she's just walking around with TWO mics, why can't she try to sing it instead of faking it?  

5) Aside from Britney's black starting number and one of the girls wearing green, the rest of the 'costumes' suck. They're just various fetish wear... like the ridiculous Halloween costume-style french maid getup. It's just the epitome of trashiness. There's ****, and then there's whoever designed that mess.  

The whole thing feels like a dirty diner, not an expensive hotel. I'm not surprised Britney became unhappy after this. It's some perv's fantasy and Britney's exploitation is just sad to watch.  

 

In comparison, DWAD celebrates Britney.  It's powerful, it's rock, it's a few gimmicks to highlight her not steal her thunder. She's the star from start to finish. There's no garbage host or stupid side stories / characters. Costumes are incredible and she's actually dancing from the beginning of the show. In Onyx, she's standing on a damn platform with wind blowing her cape for the WHOLE OPENING NUMBER! DWAD also remixes the songs in a thrilling way, not slowing them down until it's a confusing flash back-forward confused storyline. Can't tell what the hell the era is supposed to be in Onyx. DWAD is a concert. 

 

Anyways... I could go on, but I think Britney turned off a lot of her fans with the Onyx ****. I certainly try to forget about it as much as possible. 

I respect your opinion a lot, but honestly? Yes, it had that **** vibe to it, but still, the concept, the songs, the dancers, costumes, her DANCING... it’s Britney at her best.

Also, the production was in fact cheaper, but others like Baby One More Time Tour and oops tour wouldn’t be THAT enjoyable if it weren’t for Britney herself.

DWAD was her best Tour in performing
She had the costumes,props,choreography, everything.
In Onyx it was kinda boring cuz it wasn't as colorful and in Circus, she didnt move as much.


But yea, I appreciate Onyx since she showed a new side of herself.
I heard she hated the tour tho (she was obviously sick of getting overworked)
She was ****, fiercer than ever, peak dancer and overall great...but it had lots and lots of lipping moments..

OH had amazing costumes and choreography! Britney danced so hard in that show! I always felt like something was kind of missing from that show though, I think it was coming after DWAD and there was no catwalk or anything. But it's a great show I love the theme and she had crowd interaction + the Everytime live vocals! The creepy manager guy was stupdid tho and Boom Boom/MATM kinda sucked but overall a great show!

DWAD is my favorite tour because everything was top notch. 

Circus and all the tours before were really great. They all deserve the praise. Onyx I can appreciate more now because when it happened I was young and it was a lot but it’s a strong tour. 

I’m going to watch onyx now. I haven’t watched it in awhile.

I understand that some may prefer DWAD because it was focused mainly on the dancing and had a lot of fireworks and special effects, but say that the production of Onyx was cheap is just wrong...

The stage may seem smaller but it was one of the first stages of that time to use all LED lights (which nowadays is pretty usual, but not at that time), and not just in one screen, the whole back of the stage (stairs etc) are equipped with that...and instead of just projecting lights it projected patterns and stuff...maybe if you were born in more recent times this seems pretty simple to you, but at the time it was something really innovative

The dresses are actually expensive as hell!! If I'm not wrong the blue dress from Shadow is a unique design from Roberto Cavalli (think how much that costs)

It may not have fireworks or a waterfall but that doesn't mean it's less spectacular...the theme of hotels needs something more intimist and that is exatcly what she and her team did, and very well I must say...also the band is amazing

You may prefer DWAD as a show, britney's dancing in there, the setlist, etc...but please don't say this is a cheaper show

The only thing that I think they went too far was with BOM, I don't like the make out session on stage, but everything else is perfect for me

That was the first Britney show I was seeing and I loved it ! I missed the Oops tour and DWAD sadly did not come to Europe for some very sad reasons.

The Onyx Hotel was a perfect show, with a story line, different atmospheres, beautiful costumes, it was ****, it was hot and she was one fire for our Paris date.

exactly!! I  actually prefer the OHT stage becaus it was so colourful. DWAD tour stage had some epic props (music box, opening thing) but it was very dark and boring looking. For me the dancing in OHT is great and I liked the concept overal. Shadow was beautiful so was everytime and most of the songs had great choreo and dancing.

The negatives:

•  the trashyness (BOM kiss)
• BOMT and OIDIA were very bland
• the host was annoying as ****
• she didnt do the ABC choreo for Boom Boom and Toxic.

thats pretty much it for me. It was a show with some great moments and some average moments. I could understand parents feeling uncomfprtable watching TOMH or BOM with their kids tho.

[Complication]

The concept behind the tour was cool, but the execution was a confused mess where nothing seemed to match. It should have been like the commercials. Britney herself was great and the staging was really not that bad, but again aside from a couple of props it had no relevance to the Onyx concept. The live band were also great and I like the BOMT and Crazy mixes, but Oops was destroyed. I skip that song every time.

Her next recidency should be like onyx hotel as in terms of stage design and production. 

Add some pre-recorded vocals and a slow down set where she sings a section of ballads with a piano and a band.
