Is there something off about the way they edited the chorus in Invitation

Idk it’s a lovely song but there’s always been something off about the vocal processing/vocoder at the chorus. Idk, it’s definitely a mixing issue and perhaps there’s something simply missing, but it does have to do with the vocal production. I know it’s supposed to be a whole vibe, which it provides. It’s light, welcoming and a great start to the album nevertheless, but I can imagine non Britney stans being lile “hmmm ok the chorus is a bit off”

I love this song, but I agree. I've always thought her voice sounded fuzzy/lispy on this song.

There’s nothing missing or incorrect about the track. It’s a specific stylized choice. You just don’t like it, which is fine.

It's the vocal production, not the vocals themselves. It's a bit too much.

Idk why Britney gets so much hate for using a lot of production but when others artist today do it especially men they get no hate, this seems to always be the case with Britney why can’t we accept this was how the record was supposed to sound

I think it's just stylistic choice, that may sound "off" to some. See, the vocals in the verses are up and front, giving them "personal" feel, like she's singing very close to the mic, however during the chorus her vocals are heavily panned to the sides (which is usually done to background vocals) and they have tons of reverb and chorus effect so it sounds "dreamy". I personally like it but I can see why some don't.

 

It will be interesting to hear this song in dolby atmos cause it would need to have clearer  vocals in the chorus, so it doesn't get muddy

Yes yes yes! I’m dying to hear Glory in Dolby atmos. I think this song would be insane

It has to do with the compression. Many Britney songs don’t sound as good as listening to them lossless using audiophile equipment.
