Lindsay Lohan & Rachel McAdams Interested in ‘Mean Girls’ Sequel (Report)

According to a new report, Lindsay Lohanand Rachel McAdams are interested in heading back to North Shore High School to film a Mean Girls sequel.

The duo played Cady Heron and Regina George, respectively, in the 2004 cult classic movie. More recently, Lindsay reunited with costars including Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert to film a themed commercial for Walmart.

While Rachel opted out of reprising her role for the commercial, a source claimed that there is a lot of interest in getting back to the franchise.

People reported that Lindsay "wants to do another [Mean Girls] and has a good relationship with her former cast members.”

“They are her friends and have been. Another film would be great for her and for audiences who loved the original," the insider explained.

Meanwhile, Rachel "would likely do a Mean Girls sequel if everything presented to her made sense."

“She has no regrets about not doing a Walmart commercial, which is a different thing," they alleged. "She is super busy, but likes her former cast members and would be interested in talking about a sequel if it becomes a reality.”

Did you know that the cast of Mean Girlsalmost looked very different? See which role Lindsay originally auditioned for and who might have played some of the other iconic roles.

I doubt anyone can come up with a worthwhile plot for this film

I feel like the obvious plot choice for this movie would just be revolving around a school reunion where they're all older but all still millennial mean and hooked on status / most accomplished

The REAL obstacle comes with weather or not the script will be trash because Mean Girls (2024) was terrible

yaaaaaas. the walmart commercials proved the chemisty, acting, comedic timing, casting is possible. Honestly, the girls performances would make the film good no matter what because they’re acting chops are on point. Imagine rachel mcadams in those walmart commercials. It would of completed it. I could see a comedic mini series or a sequel.

The walmart commercials got the style of comedy right. Out of all the mean girls tributes/remakes those walmart commercials were the best. Hell, walmart should produce the movie. I feel like thatd be a great direction for walmart. And they should keep the cast of Gretchen’s husband/daughter. The actress that played her daughter did a really good job. Great casting.

Yes. Janice is actually the mean girlboss type who is the leader of a girlboss clique. The plot will be Janice getting an invite to her high school reunion and then she contacts Cady to catch up. Cady and Karen are teachers. Gretchen is a trophy wife. Regina is a physical Therapy Assistant who is actually the humble one. Janice's goal is to look like she has the perfect life compared to the Plastics. It turns into a Gretchen vs Janice plot. Think GirlBoss vs Tradwife

It really has to have a sense. In their age they only can play parents of new plastics. Not be the 1. Good comedy is really smth what we need these days.

Girl AI wrote a better plot

In "Mean Girls 2: Reunion," set two decades after the original, Cady Heron returns to North Shore High School for her 20-year reunion. She's now a successful entrepreneur, but her old high school rival, Regina George, has become a powerful CEO. The school is once again engulfed in drama as the new generation of mean girls, led by Regina's daughter, threatens to recreate the toxic dynamics of the past. Cady must navigate old conflicts, friendships, and rivalries while trying to prevent history from repeating itself. Along the way, she discovers that true empowerment comes from breaking the cycle of meanness and embracing authenticity. :gagasmile_smirk_lady_pink:

Exactly my point on why a part two wouldn’t work. Your plot with Janice being the new mean girl 20 years later screams JoJo Siwa is the new main pop girl delusional :clicktina_xtina_christina_aguilera_mouse_computer:

Janice was always mean, tho. In my part two, she would still be mean. IMO, Janice and Gretchen were the meanest in part 1. Part 2 would highlight this.

now that they just did that awful musical remake, that completely flopped. i don't think its's a good time. mean girls brand took a hit with that.

omg they need to dive into the plot where amber weiners is a nightmare daughter and gretchen is struggling with motherhood. i just rewatched the walmart commercials and that was a really funny bit with lacey chabert and amanda seyfried
