Best song on Circus. 
It’s one of those amazing moments where the production enhances the content. Her voice is processed, warped, and distant while she’s literally singing about being emotionless. 

I also love how percussion-heavy the song is. Complete with electro sirens 🚨 It sounds like an updated version of something Janet would have done for Rhythm Nation.

The lyrics also sound like they come straight from Brit. About empowerment, independence, and perseverance. I particularly love the way this section rolls off the tongue: “I like and I do what I like, and then you do what I like and you like it.”

Underappreciated gem imho. Excuse me while I go listen again

Mannequin is a major stand out track in her entire discography for me. When it first came out I hated it. It sounded messy, chaotic, too experimental, and unfinished. Then one day years later it clicked in my head and I love it. That original choreography is bomb and so fluid. It's her natural style of dancing. I'll also add that I loved how simple yet iconic her outfit was during the Circus tour. Also this remix is in my top three ever. It's almost better than the original and the video adds to the entire vibe. So good!

Wow I. Surprised at all the haters. It’s one of my top tracks from circus for real and one of the best Britney songs ever!!!! I know all the lyrics tho so I can imagine if you don’t / can’t hear it or whatever it would just sound messy. The  lyrics are amazing. Ppl should go give it another chance

Love it , many people just don't get it because they're too basic , but let's face it , Britney paved the way to other pop singers with her experimental sounds from ITZ, blackout and circus and mannequin was one of these experimental songs , there's nothing like it and that's what I like about it .

Oh, god yes. I am a Mannequin stan. Would LOVE to hear more tracks like those from Britney. 
 

Also, this track is a perfect example of how Blackout & Circus are stepsister albums.
