Not necessarily. Closure can happen internally. Britney doesn’t need to understand her abusers nor excuse the abuse she received perpetuated by her family in order to heal. It’s clear you haven’t encountered sociopathic narcs in your life (lucky you), but your advice is absolutely terrible and counterproductive and not at all why therapist and psychologists would recommend. The healing begins and the cycle of abuse ends when the victim removes herself/himself from the abuser and understand she/he is being abused.

It all comes back to that 2019 mental facility stay. That 2019 stay changed so much. Her entire face changed. Her entire spirit. Her eyes. Everything.

Imagine doing everything you're told for 13 years. Finally feeling like you are a human being. Finally making peace with being a prisoner of the entertainment industry and your money-grubbing father. And then doing something so simple as refusing a dance move. And then being thrown into a mental facility. Have you guys ever visited an asylum? The types of people there, the entire energy...is not somewhere someone who has been accustomed to Hollywood life would ever ever ever get used to. And she was there for 4 long lonely months. Her sister (who she saw as a daughter) avoided her calls and texts. Her father laughed in her face. Her mother just gave her a whole buncha nothing and pleasantries. Meanwhile, her team (Lou Taylor, who is also Jamie's manager) is revving up the gears for a Zoey 101 reboot and when Britney is released for the asylum, they're probably gushing about putting Jamie Lynn back on top. Britney must've felt like she was disposable. Forgettable. Unwanted by her own damn family. 
And then COVID hits.

 

The more she shares, the more the timeline makes sense.
