Dropping the name is like giving them power. Keeping the name claiming the power back. She is the only reason why name Spears is legendary. 

Also, if she drops it, is that mean her family can claim everything that spears related? 

My sister keeped her married name because she had PhD and other stuff under that name, and changing it will be too much hassle. (Kept after divorce)

Her sister though should take her hubby's name....
