If you are the main artist and you get hijacked by the featured artists, you know Damn we that's Gonna be controversial. 

Artpop could have been universal flawless without Jewel's N Stuff. Not enough Gaga but heavy on the rap. 

 

Same thing with Triumphant by Mariah Carey. The Dance remixes are better cos it's just Mimi. The original she rarely had anything outside the chorus.

They didn't ruin it but they had too many lines for a featured artist, they made Mariah look like the featured artist and not the lead one, the song's kinda weak though even if it was just Mariah solo

If anything Mariah Carey did a good thing, but also considering this has become the standard in pop Music. It could also be a bad thing as most of these outside Mariah is viewed as nothing more than a way to get street cred.
