One night in 2007, pop star Britney Spears, in the throes of a prolonged and public episode of substance dependency and apparent mental breakdown, made a spectacle of smearing food across her face in the restaurant at Chateau Marmont. Other diners present, among them fellow pop diva Victoria Beckham, mentioned to the staff that Spears was “acting weird.” When she started to play dress up with her dinner, she was escorted from her table and informed that she was no longer welcome on the hotel grounds. The restriction was lifted after Spears cleaned herself up, and she was back in the restaurant two years later celebrating her 28th birthday.

Her sin wasn’t the behavior itself, not entirely, but rather the public and, worse, unapologetic nature of it. The secret, apparently, to not only indulging in eyebrow-raising doings at Chateau Marmont but getting away with them was to keep mum about your antics entirely and then, if caught, be playfully vague or obviously exaggerate your account of whatever it was you were supposed to have done

I had no idea this even happened, girl must have been drunk. It’s pretty obvious she had a drinking problem since in recent years she makes it a point to say she doesn’t drink, plus her father had a drinking problem and stuff like that tends to run in families. I never believed she was ever addicted to *****, plus she always passed her **** tests.

I love Chateau Marmont, it's one of my favorite lunch spots. They're pretty strict so I can see them asking someone to leave.

Not going to start an argument here but her cps case had the judge say she was a habitual and frequent **** user. I dont think we've ever seen proof she passed **** tests. However, this is all in the past and it's testament to her recovery today that she's still here and alive.

She's not a drinker, even when clubbing, she never looked drunk. She had more a problem with prescription ***** I believe.

And I still do not understand why they say that she has had problems with alcohol publicly she has never been drunk.

Well, doing a bit of research, none of the articles that mention this story have any pictures attached, which is super weird considering she was always followed by hundreds of paparazzi.

This supposedly happened on September 18, 2007, and if you look at the candids of that day, there are many pictures of her, but not at any restaurant

There is this interesting blog, though, because apparently "sources" contradicted each other, some saying Victoria Beckham didn't want to be near Britney, and others saying Britney was the one that didn't know who she was

Honestly this is such a lie because as you can see Victoria and Britney have known each other for many years.



I guess you can't always believe what's in the paper.

 

Victoria did talk bad about Britney though, in 2008

There were many pictures of her in the tabloids drunk when she was younger (pre-breakdown) a few even where she has a drink in her hand. There’s also those pics of Paris helping her walk out of a club because she was tipsy/drunk.

Chateau Marmont has long been like a clubhouse for weird celebrity behavior (some of it is actually pretty interesting to read about). For the most part, it seems like they'd allow just about anything to go on as long as you kept to your room/bungalow and largely out of the public eye. The only issue here was likely that Britney was acting weird in front of other guests. The staff there are probably experts in covering things up.

I always feel like they said she had problems with alcohol to cover up the fact that her issue was with *****. It’s almost as if alcohol is considered the lesser out of the two things. Britney definitely had substance abuse and she was said to be injecting during 2007. There are videos on the internet of her with marks all over her face and she often covered her mouth to cover it. There’s no denying she was a **** addict during her worst year and I don’t think that it just started in 2007. I think she started in 2004 and it got gradually worse.

It is one thing that she was a social consumer that we do not know if she was and another a **** addict ... if they put the lights of the photographers an inch from my face,  I would also have that attitude.
I remember a video, she was young and drunk, but I think like everyone at that age.
