How are they doing that? Tbh I agree with them, I hate the woke crowd/cancel culture too because all they have is to be angry all the time and then go after people without the full story or if someone has a minor slip up on accident, they get attacked right away. What kind of life is that?

edit: Before you try to quote me and call me all this, let me use an example. Someone is non-binary and a person is talking to them and either knows or doesn’t know that the person is non-binary and uses the wrong pronoun on accident. The whole woke/cancel culture would pounce on that person for making an accidental slip up that they’d be dragged and canceled for all eternity even if the person sincerely apologizes and admits their mistake. As I said what kind of life is that? It’s straight up toxic.

I already explained why using the word woke is akin to using the word gay as a slur or using the N-word. I saw you read it so I shouldn't have to repeat myself. Nobody gets angry that someone uses the wrong pronoun by mistake. That's one of those things people just make up to have an excuse to hate on non-binary people. You guys might not agree, but that doesn't make you right. You simply aren't educated. Go read about the history of the word before using the word woke as a negative again.

It's perfectly valid to be a progressive and an ally without being blind to all the damage to its own cause this uber woke culture trend continues to inflict by attacking, demeaning and alienating normal people who simply happen to be misinformed or unwittingly ingnorant about certain issues unfamiliar to them, instead of trying to gently bring them into the fold via open conversation and understanding.

It doesn't matter what the origin of the word is, it's devolved to represent the left at its worst self-defeating tendencies, and I am about as left-leaning as one can be without descending to arrant lunacy.

I only point it out when people make inappropriate comments. Using the word woke as a negative hurts black and trans people. I wasn't attacking. I was educating. You will see joshyworld initiated this topic with an aggressive tone and that's what does the most damage.

The truth is, most people who use the word negatively are actually racist or transphobic. My little brother is a perfect example. He always used the word negatively and he denies that he is right-wing, racist or transphobic. And in the next breath he will say extremely racist, s**ist, transphobic and homophobic things. The truth is that the people who have picked up the word as a negative term usually socialise with others who do so, and they make not be openly racist or transphobic but pretty much always behind closed doors.

You can say what you want but those are just the facts. I have tried to explain to joshyworld but he refuses to listen, obviously because he doesn't give a damn about minorities. At least admit it.

Finding offence in the use of the word "woke" is pretty easy since it has been appropriated and redefined as something dirty, and a means to ridicule and dismiss, rather than to signify being *aware, tolerant and progressive.
