Britney Spears and Elton John are 'planning to release extended version of Hold Me Closer'

The pair teamed up for a single, 'Hold Me Closer', and an extended version is on the way. As well as a longer rendition of the track, fans will get to enjoy a remix package too. A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "'Hold Me Closer' has got off to a near- perfect start but now it’s about longevity."Due to streaming, songs can stay on charts for months or simply drop off after the initial buzz dies down. "A few remixes and an extended version will help to combat that." The song has already gone to the top of the charts in more than 40 countries.

Sir Elton hopes it will boost Britney's confidence.

I hope it’s true!  Also do some type of video - even if it is just animated - to keep the buzz going.  It’s doing so well on radio and if it continues to slay radio and do well with sales/streaming, I wouldn’t count out as low burning number 1.  Hell, even a video of Britney singing it on social media would do wonders.
