Battle Of The Pop Stars Round 3: Lady Gaga vs. Rihanna

Gaga because music is her real passion and you can tell. She pours her all into what she does, she has an emotional connection with her music and allows you to have one too. She created a very special bond with her fans over the years and isn’t rude to them on IG  

She hasn’t relied on not mainstream singers to write tons of her songs and even sing them for her, she hasn’t forced other artists to give her songs that they didn’t want to give away (poor Tinashe and SZA). 

Also I love when artists have an unapologetic love for Pop and want to push it forward and Gaga has been committed to that from the beginning. She has been genuine about that unlike Rihanna, who just took opportunities to get big hits from producers.

Rihanna is an amazing businesswoman. But her integrity as an artist is very questionable. I don’t see most of her albums as cohesive records either... She seems to have found her steady ground in other endeavors.

(Also I vote for Shakira to be the next one versus the new winner!)

Diamonds is one of the best pop songs I ever heard in my life so yeah take that! It’s hard to describe Rihanna ‘cause she’s one of the goats and I grew up with her bops. She’s the realest!

Riri just has that swag lol. Everything she does seems so effortless and cool. Musically I dont find either of their works to be extremely monumental or S tier, except maybe Anti. Anti is an excellent album and Rihanna really did put a lot of thought and effort in it. Both have hits but riri makes more hit songs. Both have also lots of filler on most their albums. Rihannas biggest problem is her tours, she is a lazy performer, is often late, doesnt rly put a lot effort in her performsace and makes the fans sing too much. Still Its riri for me, for excellet album anti and that cool aura she has.

I love Gaga, but I like Rihanna’s music better generally and vibe with her more. I also grew up with her since Pon De Replay in 2005 and feel more of a connection with her.

I love what Gaga has done for the LGBTQ community, her impact on pop culture, and how hard she works especially given her struggles, but she’s a bit too camp for me, I don’t connect with her or her music as much, and she kinda fell off for me with the jazz album, Joanne, and the movie she was in (though she’s great in it, it’s just not my thing).

Ironically thats exactly what I don't like about Rihanna, her voice. I find her to be a bland performer as well, she doesn't really dance. She is very beautiful though I will say that.

Exactly this, Rihanna is a pop product, she's not that great of a singer and she's also not a good dancer.

I love Gaga but Riri just wins this round because she is a POP STAR. She's become HUGE in the past 10 years and her past few albums have been amazing. Just wait till she drops the new stuff. She's got a bad ***** energy while Gaga for me is more like a rockstar. And because we're talking about pop here, I think the bad B energy wins.

This one is hard one tbh. I like both ladies. Both of them have bops. Both of them are iconic. However, Gaga is more vocally and generally more talented. She has a good heart. On the contrary, I like Rihanna's voice more. She has that cool attitude etc. 

Both have done something that made me question them as well as they both have made something that made me to appreciate them more.

As for acting. I saw both of them acting and I enjoyed Gaga's acting more (in AHS). 

Both have bops, both have flops and both have fillers. Ugh, why don't we have that male star battle or whatsoever. It was easier to pick one.

A few days ago I saw a video of Rihanna in a radio interview saying how she didn’t want to put out songs that Kesha, Gaga or Katy could release, kinda discrediting them. That was circa 2012 I guess. I thought it was pretty ironic considering the three have more input in the music they release. Pop shaming isn’t cute, especially when she puts out songs like Work and most of her #1s are Pop.

Plus Gaga's discography is much better.

Rihanna's hits were just paid for. If you listen to all the demos of her biggest hits she barely added anything.
