This Day in Pop: Britney performs at the AMA's 2003 (November ceremony)

On November 16, 2003 the 31st Annual American Music Awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. This would be the second ceremony of the year, since the 30th AMA's took place in January that year.

Britney Spears was one of the performers of the night, opening the show with Me Against the Music. And even though Madonna won the Artist of the Year award, she wasn't there to perform the song with her.

 

Other performers of the night were Pink, Hilary Duff, Ashanti, Andre 3000, among others.

she killed it, love that performance. i remember her team coming out and saying she'd definitely sing live, so they added in those pre-recorded vocals lol idc though, she still was awesome. also, here's yet another case of her mystery *****: red carpet - nothing, performance - boom. always keeping us guessing lol
