I don’t remember exactly what she said, but she made fun of her own acting abilities in recent years. I didn’t like that. I think it’s a confidence thing given how badly Crossroads was received. 

It would be cool if she got a good dramatic role in a serious movie.

I think she got cold feet when she didn’t get the role for The Notebook. She saw that it wasn’t that easy to have a role and be taken seriously as an actress.

She did shine with her TV roles on How I Met Your Mother and Will & Grace though.

yeah but I think when she was given some certain control she did not do that well. I think she fought for Do Somethin as single and also directed the video.. did not do well

Also she really wanted me against the music to be the first single, she got it and it did not do *as well as other singles could. I think she was not trusted but overall I am not even sure if she was in a good state of mind already post-2002 to make carrier related decisions? I am just guessing here tho but in a way I got this feeling she was not completely organized and just wanted to do things against her management at that time (similarly to marrying Jason Alexander..)

I honestly do not understand how can people say she is a good actress. She is not and never was.

If she had been cast in The Notebook, I believe her career would have been an entire different thing imo. Perhaps she would have focused more on movie projects, instead of touring or music. She would have received her so-needed breaks in between movie projects, something she did not get between albums/tours

which proves my point that she got distracted when she met that piece of trash and in result, walked away from a potential movie career.
