Why didn’t Mind Your Business do well?

Recommended Posts

I think it will grow over time once the GP catches it. The song works well in a party environment just like S&S. It's a grower. First time listening I was disappointed, and now I actually like it. Is just a fun song and quite catchy.

I have no data or stats to support this, but I think people want raw Britney. I think I remember that when HMC was released, there were reports (maybe comments by Elton?) where he said that Britney actually wanted her vocals like they sound in the final version (as opposed to the version that was leaked with more natural vocals)… This gives me the impression that either Britney is insecure about her voice or she thinks we want overproduced vocals from her.

Mind Your Business is a campy/fun song but IN MY OPINION ONLY, it’s not a good song at all and the only reason I listen to it it’s because Britney is involved.

A lot of fans don’t like Glory, but to me it’s the perfect sound for her. The songs in this album also explored other themes other than s** and clubbing. Her voice sounds fantastic. She was also so proud of this album.

Understand that she wants to live as an ordinary woman with phenomenal past that she is aware of. She put her coat of fame in the closet.

As much as she wants to be private and what not, unfortunately that won't ever happen. She's not a new artist or someone that can just fade into obscurity. I do wish there was a way for her to be an amazing artist on one side, and then have people know nothing about her on the other side. Kind of like Lana Del Rey.

The track is great…not necessarily a single. I think had Britney actually promoted it..it would have faired better.

This to me seems contractually obligated. I do think Britney and Will are good friends or at least on good terms which is why she hasn’t spoken out against it.

I just think it was something the label and/or Will had rights to release and she probably couldn’t really have a say in it.

If there is something that attracts me about an artist is their energy. Sometimes songs are meh, but they really have a feeling that pulls you. I feel this song as empty and vacant as everything she has done in years. It feels like a document you have to sign, not something with emotion.

I mean, the songs sucks big time. It is a loop, not a song, but it would not have been the first awful song to succeed.

Also, I think there is a widedpread misconception about how much the public cares about Britney. Outside of this forum, she is perceived as a washed up, past her time act. She would really have to work hard and engage people to go back to the level of attention her music career used to command.

I agree. The song is incredibly lazy and feels like they just threw their scraps at us. It’s almost offensive.

If I were to rank Britney's lead single, assuming MYB is her lead single for her tenth album:

1. OIDIA

2. BOMT

3. Gimme More

4. Womanizer

5. MYB

6. Slave

7. Work *****

8. Make Me

9. MATM

10. HIAM

I'm sure it will be a hit in a few weeks
