I’m pretty sure that Selena wasn’t keen on inviting Britney after her one-sided beef with Selena. However, she took this opportunity to get back at her by inviting her “friend” and nemesis.

Maybe just maybe Britney is the “toxic” person. The way she bullied Selena for months for no clear reason still doesn’t sit right with me.
