Do you think Britney could've had Beyoncé longevity if it wasn't for the conservatorship ?

Recommended Posts

Hmm is team con planting fake beyonce fans to make us talk shiit about beyonce so that we look like a horrible fanbase?.

Well. If you are asking a serious question, yes. I think the conservatorship took control of Britney's art direction. And I think Britney could have done way better as a free artist. Look at hmc. It's beautiful and it has longevity. She may not have done it by herself but she made her own decisions. Beyonce is great at what she does too, but does includes many things that are shady which I won't say.

But why do you keep comparing? With the passive agressive titles as if Britney's not famous and only Beyonce is doing well. Britney's current success and popularity would be a dream for many artists and maybe we should focus on that. (And now it seems it's not Britney and xtina anymore... how times change... 🥴)

Britney is doing great, Beyonce is respectfully doing her own thing, they like and respect each other.

I don’t think it was the conservatorship. I think she rebelled against her handlers at the time. She wanted to live life on her terms and no one allowed her. That sort of led into the conservatorship. I think she’s finally getting that chance now. But  she achieved so much so quickly- I don’t know if she would’ve wanted to sustain that. It’s a lot of pressure.

this. i don't think she wanted what beyonce has tbh. she was already a legend and was tired of that life. she's never been full of herself or greedy. so no, i think she would have lived a much simpler life with her kids, a husband and maybe a new album every three years or so. living a happy, careless life :crying1_britney_sobbing_tears_2006_sad:

If she wasn't put in that situation, i wonder if Britney would've had the same longevity as Beyoncé

Beyoncé is definitely the most popular singer of the late 90's/early 2000s and the most relevant today in 2023.

She had #1 song. 24 years into her career.

Not everyone can do that, not even Madonna

Bey propably wouldn't even be so popular had Britney not have her mental breakdown. Beyoncé had a huge success with her first album, but Britney was so big back then that no other artist (not even Bey) could overshadow her. I think the same applies to some of the newer popstars back in the day as Nelly Furtado, and later on Gaga, Riri or Katy. They all got huge when Brit started to fade (2004-2007). We know Brit came back full on (or kind of) in 2008, but I feel like the industry needed some main pop acts while she was out of the spotlight and the GP found that in those girls. Idk, just my opinion :)

Never heard about her since 2004 :frenchy_britney_u_sure_ff_femme_fatale_you_look:

Also, why y'all are so obsessed with Beyonka?

She has some hits, but as artist is Britney more creative and so much better...

If you haven’t heard of Beyoncé since 2004 you have been living under a literal rock

Britney does have longevity but Beyonce is just much more culturally relevant based on the societal politics we have in today's world. The main difference between Beyonce and Britney is the tone in which the media discusses them in. Beyonce has def been sure to curate her image and has worked harder to maintain it than Britney has. Beyonce also has worked on improving her craft whereas Britney worked hard to hit a peak and then pulled back on pushing her talent further. Honestly, Pop Star as a job title really should not be looked at as a long term career so I don't blame Britney. Pop star is a temporary role which is a stepping stone to other things.

Let's just say that whereas Beyoncé and other artists are hungry to stay relevant, Britney just don't give a fk about it and she has stated it multiple times! (Even tho no matter what, she'll always be relevant and the fact that HMC is still charting MEANS something :mattafact_alligator_telling_talking_chatting_preaching_green:) Some of y'all just don't wanna understand that she was already over this whole being famous and relevant thing by 2004/2005.

There's an old interview somewhere where she literally says that she would like to become a mother and spend time with her kids and husband in a big house with a pool or something like that.

I think that if she ever comes back (I know she hates that word lol :emma:) It would be something lowkey like Hold Me Closer (and with lowkey I'm not talking about the success of the song, it's actually crazy to see that the song is still relevant!) But little-to-no promo, while she celebrates the success on IG etc... And I'm ok with that, this poor woman has gone through enough and she deserves to live her life the way she prefers :whiteladydance_scarlett_dancing_happy_johansson:

this!

I think it was 2001/2002 when she already wanted to have a family and be free from Britney Spears thing.

she said something like “music/art isn’t the main thing in my life. It will end I want to have a big family end give my whole self to them”

it was kind of shock to be to hear that from such an young person.. I mean she was a child lol and she was already tired of the whole thing. In Britney era she started talking about bad sides of being famous really sad kind of way..

Nope - she was already over it by the time promotion for Blackout (or lack of thereof) was finished and she made it clear she wanted to walk away, But daddy spears swept by and forced her back in.....

My theory is that by the time she she decided to come back (if she did at all) several years would have gone past and with all the media scandals she wouldn't have had the same media presence.
