The official version saved the song. Those croaky and pitchy ad-libs were not it. Let’s also not forget the improper vocal layering. The producers and Britney knew what they were doing by cutting it out and polishing what needed to be polished. A saving grace.

I think it’s more polished but I think for a Grammy nominated track it might’ve needed to be less processed

It's not like any of the other contenders are any better than HMC, the song is amazing and deserves.
