Question. Is Jamie Lynn's New Netflix Series "Sweet Magnolias" Even Good?

Netflix ignored the petition to axe JL.

Now:

Shares of Netflix closed down more than 35% Wednesday after the streamer reported earnings Tuesday evening that showed it lost subscribers for the first time in more than 10 years. The results and weak outlook led to a wave of downgrades from Wall Street on fears over the company's long-term growth potential.

Wondering if there were other disgusted people like me who cancelled Netflix because of JL? Could be a factor....

(Maybe Bozoma St. John should get herself a new rep and fire Lou, to read the room and recover)

also:

Magnolias is nowhere on the top ten streaming ratings (original or total numbers) .

Puh-lease :dead_falling_wig_dying: Don’t give Jumbo Lou that much credit nnnnnn :orangu_orangutan_ape: She did not impact Netflix to the extent of making them lose subscribers… she definitely didn’t help them gain any! :tiffdrink_miss_ms_ny_new_york_drinking_sips_sipping_tea_straw:

:frenchy_britney_u_sure_ff_femme_fatale_you_look:

Um, in the UK it's called the cost of living crisis.

Every single outgoing I have has increased in recent months. Mortgage, council tax, gas, electricity, petrol, phone bill etc

Netflix also increased their prices. People are cutting down on entertainment and items which can be considered as "luxuries". I know at least five people who have cancelled their subscriptions.

Netflix are taking the hit and will continue to do so.

It's definitely in correlation with their increase in pricing.

Yes, of course it wasn't the only factor, there were  other factors👍

Just saying though... Didn't work out so good for them after all... Karma

I have a friend who watches it and says it’s not a good show in general. According to her, Jamie Lynn cannot act very well and her character is really annoying and naive. When I looked up the show and how viewers responded to it online, people said the show was never going to win an Emmy or anything but that it was just kinda there.

I’m surprised that some people on Reddit and stuff (this is largely before the GP knew about jamie Lynn’s involvement in the conservatorship) said jamie Lynn embodied the character better than others though, making it more believable. that being said her character was also described by them as being naive, self concerned and kind of young and annoying. Guess it makes sense she’d be believable in that though hdjdjdjd

the demographic for this show overall…. Idek who it’s supposed to be made for

At least when JL was on this show she had… a job. LOL
