Sam posts about #FreeNichelleNichols on Instagram

Sam just posted on his story about #FreeNichelleNichols. For those of you who don't know, Nichelle Nichols is an iconic actress best known for her role in the original Star Trek series and films. She is a civil rights activist, and her role in Star Trek was groundbreaking as she was one of the first black women to have a featured role on television.

She is now 89 and is stuck in a conversatorship controlled by her son and has been isolated from all friends and people who care about her. Despite this, and despite her son claiming she has dementia, as of 2021 she is still appearing in movies and making appearances at conventions, with all of her income going to her son.

It's brilliant that Sam posted about this, and is bringing more awareness to this case. If Britney posted about it, that would make such a huge impact for Nichelle Nichols. It's great to see they are committing to their advocacy for other victims of the conservatorship system

nice this is great! i hope Britney posts about it too. it would be extremely sweet and will singlehandedly cause a lot of buzz which can help Nichelle and her case immensely. not to mention bring attention to other abusive conservatorship cases.

hopefully the help is appreciated and doesn't cause Nichelle any problems; I hope she'll find freedom as these things sound extremely scary and damaging. there's still a long way to go with the system.

Britney, use your platform for Nichelle, Peter Max and Charlie Thrash. You have all the time in the world to think about how you're gonna approach what you said about being an activist, but a post highlighting their cases would be a no brainer

The difference is, Jamie Lynn is criticised for reasons confirmed by Britney. Your opinions on Sam are literally from thin air and do nothing except try to ruin Britney's happiness and disrespect her.

Star Trek legend Nichelle Nichols will soon have her next conservatorship hearing, and many #FreeBritney supporters will be there holding a planned rally outside the courthouse. With Britney Spears now no longer a part of her controversial conservatorship, some advocates have shifted focus to #FreeNichelle, a movement launched with the goal of getting Nichols out of her conservatorship as well.
