Ciara says her #1 debut hit single "Goodies" almost went to Britney Spears

These comments are killing me 
and I LOVE Goodies! But like ,I also can't see Britney singing it? And honestly,I wouldn't be surprised if Britney proved me wrong because she's a vocal chameleon but I dunno.

Goodies was a success for Ciara but I don't think it would have worked as well for Britney and I'm glad it went to Ciara instead tbh,as Goodies I don't see being a stand out track in Brit's discography.

I respectfully disagree. Ciara did an amazing job with it and I can’t imagine anyone else singing it

This did not age well, but a collab back in the day wouldve been nice.

I can see Britney killing both the vocals and choreo to this song. It would fit given the sound of Boom Boom, vocals on ITZ, and the Outrageous video, but the song is just more urban.

However, I’m glad it didnt happen. It sounds like the song would’ve been stolen from Ciara behind her back. Stealing a song that was written by a black woman and that is a hip hop (a genre creates by African Americans) song would’ve been messed up and a really bad look.

Britney would have done the song justice but I would have preferred her sing Milkshake instead. The Neptunes originally wrote it for Britney during the Britney era! That woulda been an even bigger banger IMO

I think Promise would be great for Britney. It fits on In the Zone. Her song Trouble For Me sounds so similar to Ciara's Get Up
