Madonna shades all of the pop stars from the last 20 years

Madonna shades the music industry and how acts gets signed. She also used her true story of moving to New York with only $35 ($60 into today's currency with added inflation). 

In a new post on Instagram, she posted a meme that read:

"No YouTube, no Vine, no The Voice, no American Idol, no Disney. Just $35 dollars and a dream."

She added in the caption: "No IG, Twitter or Tik Tok either! 🚀🚀🚀"

She did get signed the old fashioned way... shopping her demo tape to labels.

Madonna was signed to Sire records in 1982 while the head of the record label was recuperating from a triple bypass surgery. Madonna was told to wait a month. They were interested and didn't want to lose her, but Madonna being a true Leo at heart refused to wait and signed her initial dance club singles for $10,000 plus an additional $14,000 for every song she wrote. 

I kinda agree with the meme she posted. Especially with Idol and The voice. Idol only produced two global Superstars Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. The rest have a few years at fame and then fade off. 

The Voice produced Melanie Martinez, who is allegedly a ****** predator. Most people tune into the show for the judges. 

So it's hard to create the big icons of the past. Most have a few years then just go cult status and have a loyal small fan base.

that's an exaggeration, she also had connections. She wouldn't just up and move without being prepared. She's coming off as an old fart, times are changing and the music industry has evolved over time just like it used to be that you NEEDED a record label to make it in the industry but now, anyone can.

I don't interpret this as her being shady. To me she's saying even without all the resources people have today she still managed to make her dreams come true.

She had no connections at all. Research her story. She was nobody, She didn't have a Tommy mottola, a Clive Davis or a In Celine case a Rene.

Because she was friends with people in the underground scene, how you think she got Vogue from? 
 

Like I said, she sounds an old woman being bitter. There are many ways to get to the top, she played her way, they did theirs, is she gonna clown on Britney for being a pushover? Darling when she did Vogue she already was the world biggest pop star, released 4 studio albums (70 million sold), 2 world tours  etc. ...

 

She really did came to NY with nothing just the dream. No matter how is she acting now she is the epitome of the dream comes true if you work hard.

I don't think she is shading -she points out actual facts. There was no social media at a time and yet she got her way to the bussiness.

Excuse me? Does no one know basic pop history here (included Madonna)? She had MTV.
Anyway, that post is so Madonna, I actually enjoy seeing that shady, tell-it-like-it-is attitude from her, but I don't care about the facts behind that meme because in the end it all comes to one thing: whether the artist has the X factor or not, which is what allows them to stay relevant over the years, regardless of how they started.
Maybe her point is: now ANYONE can have their 15 minutes of fame.
