US charts are in no way a good indication of what her biggest/most recognizable songs are.

Maybe it's just me but i'm glad she's from a modest hometown like this, she knew nobody in this business. She worked hard to be at the top. What she has accomplished is quite spectacular knowing this; i love Taylor too but she has a dad who worked has a sound engineer and came from a rich family.

i love Shakira but it looks like ****, so cheap. Even Jlo last flop video looked so much better than this.

It was more than just popstars, female basically dominated the music industry in the 90's : Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Tori Amos, Dolores O Riordan, Alanis Morissette, Natalie Imbruglia, Bjork, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stephani, Sinead O' Conor, Leann Rimes, Shania Twain, Hope Sandoval, Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, Liz Phair, Shirley Manson, Beth Giibbons, FIona Apple, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, PJ Harvey, Whitney, Madonna etc etc..

So weird.. maybe she had her period or she was sick when she recorded "I Have Nothing" but that's a strange choice to send this to a record label. She could do alot better.

I remember her cover of "Open Arms" too and she had a higher register also. Her voice is a mystery lol

ITZ was amazing. I remember a different version of Brave New Girl in 2003 (sounded hip hop), i guess it was a demo but i never found it again unfortunately. It was so much better than the album version.

i don't recognize her voice at all on the first verse, definitely do on the chorus though.

I agree with him, she's a totally different person now and that's ok. As long as she's not hurting herself i'm fine, she's not doing harm to anyone in her silly dance videos, just let her be. I think at one point she'll get tired of it and we'll probably see sparks of the old Britney.

she can, she just doesn't want to. If you don't have the drive to do something it's always gonna be halfassed. Britney still has the potential, she's a trained professional dancer she just lost the drive.
