  1. It was about rebelling against the industry's plans for her. The 'meltdown' narrative was pre-planned, it was in the cards years before it happened. A manufactured media frenzy, to generate more controversy and fame around her name. She rebelled against those plans by releasing the song, it was like a warning, that this is what they wanted to do to her, but she wanted out, she didn't want to collaborate with those plans anymore (like she did with the label-manufactured breakup controversy by releasing an "apology" song and staying quiet about what really happened which hurt her in the end) so instead of the "meltdown" being a collaboration they forced it on her, hired the media to destroy her, and manipulated her life into a tailspin. "Mona Lisa" was the person that she was while being under other people's control and 'their spell' and she was now trying to break free from that, and she wasn't going to be that girl anymore who'd let her career and life course be dictated by people who care about making money but not about her as a human being -- so it's a statement, that young girl you knew before who did as she's told doesn't exist anymore.
  2. If Britney was like other big celebrities she would leverage the Free Britney hype to create the biggest comeback ever with the biggest and most epic high-grossing tour, and that is what a lot of people expected her to do. (and why they're so angry that she doesn't) Obviously people still care about her, but she's lived long enough on the other side and sees her career differently than the average person. She's been through it and her priorities are set differently now. Upholding an image and pleasing others is at the bottom of the list. Money is still a consideration, but more importantly she's focusing on herself, her well-being, her body, and -- doing the right thing -- her soul. Good for her.
  3. The illusion of money and fame is a flood Hahaha I will make sure I do the right thing Sit down and humble, Sit down and stay humble
  4. So nothing lol, I really don't care just pointing out a reason why it's doing relatively well on yt
  5. I think she meant skittles like bowling pins Like how thieves operate in groups, but with single strike ("in the middle") you can get them all.
  6. Coupure-elequeen wants us to learn french. brb taking a course Je vais lire ce livre magnifique ecrit par la reine et son auteur fantome
  7. An insider who heard the 2013 demo said the Myah vocals were auto-tuned to the stratosphere It seems B asked to tone it down for the new version so fans could recognize her voice. will.i.am did his best, will the fans appreciate his effort? Anyway, it's cute they teamed up again on a song they worked on together and probably stopped from realizing fully due to c-ship restrictions (what with phone, bedroom tapping and all). Can't sing about wanting privacy, instead you need to sing about handing over the keys and being a passenger in your own life.
  8. So you guys really think she spent the past year just twirling in her living room
  9. How do you know it's about previously unreleased and not music recorded recently?
  10. BTW it's "eye of the economy" not "I am the economy"
  11. lol it says “Apart from appearing on Sir Elton John’s Tiny Dancer remix last year, Britney has not released any new material since 2020.” Meaning apart from HMC last year she hasn't released anything since 2020 with Glory re-release and SITS.
  12. lol What is the main concern here? Her legacy? Her lifestyle? Her reputation? I'm just curious. Because all of this is her personal business, and I'm sure with her close circle and legal team she's already on it and aware, she doesn't need you to keep reminding her and warn her about it. She repeatedly says this is the content she wants to share, it makes her feel good. What do you want?
  13. I think that people who perceive her insta as "something is off" are not entirely wrong, but I think what's getting left out here is Britney's intention in all of this. To assume that Britney is doing this because she's ill/unwell/isolated/stuck mentally/can't help herself/isolated/seeks attention or other reasons that are not nice to name I think is misinformed and jumping to conclusions. Britney has shown that she has self-awareness both in her captions and in her letter to Alexa Nikolas -- she expects people to laugh at her posts, she expects people to criticise and say bad things, and she expects people to fell uncomfortable and put off. She actually said she wants people to feel uncomfortable, so the question is why? She must have a reason, and whatever that reason/s is/are, it can't be very pleasant, and it seems she is gearing up to those unpleasant reasons becoming more clear. She already told you almost 20 years ago, "can you handle mine?" "Can you handle my truth?" That is the real question.
  14. River Red clearly alluding to blood. There is a saint Maria Goretti who was ******** at 11 y/o for refusing someone's ***ual advances, she was stabbed 14 times and is considered the "Patron Saint of Abused Children and r*** Victims".
  15. This song is about a girl who shoots her father because he is ***ually abusing her. Steven Tyler, who wrote the lyric, explained in the Walk This Way autobiography: "That song is about a girl getting **** and pillaged by her father. It's about incest, something that happens to a lot of kids who don't even find out about it until they find themselves trying to work through some major f--king neuroses. The line, "He jacked a little, bitty baby" was written as "He **** a little, bitty baby," but Steven Tyler changed it at the request of John Kalodner, an executive at Aerosmith's record company who looked out for their commercial interests - he thought radio stations wouldn't play the song if it was too graphic. According to Tyler, Kalodner also asked him to change the line "put a bullet in his brain" to "stand out in the pouring rain," but he refused. Steven Tyler admitted to Rolling Stone that he was attracted to his daughter, Liv. Said Tyler, "How can a father not be attracted to his daughter, especially when she's a cross between the girl he married and himself?" He continued: "All a man has to do is be totally honest with himself and he can see it. However, the real man knows that's just a place to never go. Instead he celebrates it by telling his daughter how beautiful she is and what a precious child of God she is. There's ways to love it without making love to it - I wrote 'Janie's Got A Gun' about fathers who don't know the difference." Yeah... And her father really doesn't want that book to come out
  16. Because high-pitch baby voice is the "staple" Britney voice, and they didn't want to risk the brand, seeing as they only cared about the money. They manipulated it too much and they ****ed up, it didn't sound natural, they were boring, old, greedy people who enjoyed stifling her real voice in all aspects, so sabotaging her was par for the course for them. Also, they were probably ashamed of her/not believing in her, probably though her voice was not good enough, aging, damaged or whatever (and therefore not commercially successful), and they tried to hide it by filtering it, tweaking it -- or replacing it with someone else.
  17. This is cute. But we know she can go harder Send Fred Durst on a gurner
