Britney maybe on a hiatus but she has left a lasting legacy and is one of the BIGGEST popstars of all time!

Her debut album alone is the best selling album by a teenager and one of the biggest debuts of all time.

She has so many iconic looks, performances and videos.

Plus she could dance real well whereas Taylor can't.

 

Taylor is better at songwriting, plays instruments and actually sings live but she doesn't have iconic videos, images and performances like Britney has.

YES I do think Taylor can maybe be a legend one day but NO I dont think she has surpassed Britney even though she's more relevant and popular right now.

I personally don't care much for the Taylor hype (to each their own), but what I do find kind of comical is that people in this fan base still act like Taylor is some fresh new artist to the scene.

The girl has been doing music since 2007 and she's arguably gotten more popular with each album release. Are we going to ignore the fact that the Eras Tour has single handedly outsold all of Britney's tours COMBINED.

Taylor is 16 years into her career. Ask yourself, where was Britney 16 years into hers. In a conservatorship releasing Glory with a Vegas residency. 

Britney is iconic in her own right and has her lane, just like those before her have as well. That said, if you're going to sit there and imply that Taylor Swift is nowhere near Britney's level of fame and success, then you're downright delusional.

Britney was popular in her day but Taylor has been the most popular artist since 2009 and her popularity is still growing at 15 years into her career. She’s breaking records left and right putting her in categories that only The Beatles and The Rolling Stones have accomplished.

The vast majority of Britney’s accomplishment are packed into the first 3-4 years of her career. She was more of an immediate hit but she failed to keep that same momentum going throughout her entire career.

In contrast, Taylor may not have had the immediate “pop” that Britney had, but she’s sustained her success on a much broader and larger scale than Britney has. 

This isn’t even about who is better, it’s just what it is. Facts are your friends.

I feel like in terms of pure talent, and performance skills and memorable moments she's nowhere close. 

But she has an amazing marketing team, writes her own songs, and has gotten more and more popular with each project. She basically is the industry as of right now. The eras tour is doing better than arguably and other female tour except for like Beyonce if I'm not wrong.

She is on track to surpass every female artist except Madonna in terms of sales / revenue. But honestly, 90% she does is so forgettable, I don't really understand it.
