How is it an FU? Britney hasn’t released an album in over seven years and hasn’t performed in over five years. I stopped expecting new music from her a long time ago, we were very lucky to get Hold Me Closer (and Mind Your Business nnn). It’s been made quite clear to us she is no longer interested in putting out an album or touring. Especially after what she’s dealt with the past few years… if Glory is her final album so be it. It may not feel like a proper “finale” album to you but it’s my second fave Britney album after Blackout and Britney herself seemed very proud of it.

It’s one thing if she wants to retire, who can really blame her, but this just feels like she’s rubbing salt on our wounds. Your fans are not the enemy, girl. 

25 years I’ve stanned this woman and to think it’s over without even a proper goodbye is kind of a devastating reality.

I guess I’ll get over it…eventually. Still sucks.

Her book was not clear.  The singular sentence made it seem like she was just focusing on other things and potentially open to it in the future.  Maybe an interview would be wishful thinking for a fan, but for people who have loved and supported her for nearly 30 years, I don’t think it’s out of bounds to think she could have at least written a coherent post thanking her fans for everything and saying that she is done.  That’s not asking much.  Stop acting like we are demanding she go on a farewell tour or something absurd that will require immense time and effort.  Instead we get incoherent posts that come off as sarcastic af.  We grew up with her, loved her, fought for her (in ways literally few fanbases can say they’ve done) and still do.  The least she could give back is an articulate, heartfelt, post announcing she was officially done.

She thinks she’s proving something and spiting them maybe? But the joke is on her as it’s been 16 years since she recorded anything in her control ‘Blackout’.

Instead of showing her fans what a pure Britney album feels like again, she takes the lazy/loser way out and acts like a child “I’m not recording music blah blah”.

I have several things I’d like to dwell on… not to mention as I am sad hearing this news I can’t help but also feel slightly.. annoyed?..

she has said in her own words within her book “my music career is not my focus at the moment” she said she was “having a hard time figuring out when performing would continue” or something along those lines… why not just say she was done with it then? 

second wasn’t she saying she was done when HMC and MYB were released her she agreed to do two songs even though she was “done” ?? Someone correct me if I’m wrong

third “random people” is kinda a little offensive seeing as to how these two people have shown her such respect and support and Julia has even worked on glory?? I’m assuming she could mean other people but come on now

fourth.. the fact that MYB is her last even song… it’s just sad. After all these years I feel like a proper goodbye would be a final album/small tour or residency that’s it.. I just can’t believe it’s so sudden. It makes me sad.. wish her all the best just hope she doesn’t have so much built up anger against everyone as this is what it seems

This is such a petulant post, Britney doesn't y=owe you anything. She spent most of her life pouring out her soul and life to the world on countless albums, songs, videos, movies and tours. There's nothing wrong if she wants to retire now.

girl trust me i don’t even care about her releasing music anymore, i don’t even listen to her anymore i just stan her cuz i feel connected to her as a person after all these years, her music doesn’t appeal to me no more, however she has said many times she is not returning or releasing anything yet released two singles so it won’t surprise me if she releases something again out of the blue
