Exactly, that's why Madonna went through the more holy phase of her career (1995-1999) with the release of Something to Remember, Evita and Ray Of Light, after selling s** for so many years the public gets tired of it and moves on to someone else

This might be controversial since it has 1 billion+ views on YouTube, but at least in the U.S., this kinda flopped, which is rare for Rihanna. It only hit #15 on Billboard Hot 100 and I’ve never heard it on the radio, at the club, or anyone I know ever play it or even mention it.

Selling s3x is pretty much hit and miss. Btw, yeah, ‘Not Myself Tonight’ seemed like a desperate attempt, but I still love it, let alone the song... issaBANGER

I remember anticipating this single and then feeling so let down when it premiered. Beautiful Liar was better than this messy song. The video is stunning though

It’s all relative. My logic is that it’s the same as having a #1 song for one week and then plummets down the charts for the next few weeks. Like yeah, you got a #1 and therefore must have built a lot of hype or have a really dedicated fanbase. But if it just keeps dropping and it’s not memorable, then is really that big of a success?

For a newer or niche artist, #15 is huge. For two huge popstars who are hugely successful, attractive, giving straight boys *** appeal while women feel empowered and the gays are happy, getting a #15 but never hearing the song on the radio, in clubs, or anyone else talking about it, even on pop music forums, it seems like a flop to me.
