Thanks love ❤️.  Looking back now, That time period Was so edgy and new and eclectic.  Music was really serving something different and unique.  It was an interesting time where all genres were flowering into new territories and artists were breaking new ground with lots of experimentation but also a new comfort and confidence that having the 90s in the rear-view afforded them.

What a fun question!!

I’m gonna age myself here .... but growing up in the early 2000s, closeted and in a private Christian school, there were a couple of albums that were my escape....

1. Britney — In The Zone

2. Avril Lavigne — Let Go

3. Coldplay — Rush of Cold Blood

4. Green Day — American Idiot

5. Christina Aguilera — Stripped

As I entered my early 20’s though, I remember coming to terms with myself and there were a few favorites there too...

1. Avril Lavigne — The Best Damn Thing

2. MIKA — Life In Cartoon Motion

3. The National — Boxer

4. Coldplay — Viva La Vida

I’ve got to say though, the album that just got worn out for me during my teenage years was definitely —

MICHELLE BRANCH — The Spirit Room

It’s funny how our taste for music changes over the years, yet some albums you can just pick up again and again...
