Britney doesn't seem to identify as an addict, which in itself rendered her going to those meetings somewhat pointless. She appeared to find the good in the experience and enjoy the camaraderie and strength she derived from hearing participants share their struggles and journeys, but she has implied they helped her more with carrying on through her conservatorship than any perceived substance abuse issues. She was forced to go to those meetings as a part of the smoke screen of the conservatorship to look valid. I don't have enough insight to have an opinion on her use (or non use) of alcohol or any other substance. I don't drink and I'm not a fan of alcohol's pervasive presence in mainstream culture. If I had it my way it would be outlawed like the other dr**s. I've been personally harmed more by the drinking of my loved ones than any other dr*g. Britney definitely had me lol'ing in his clip. "cater to me, little B_tch"

Unfortunately all we can really do is hope for the best and protect ourselves as best we can as we watch someone we care for make what appear to be some unhealthy personal choices. We really have very little direct insight into Britney's reality right now so in that regard there's a sliver of hope that she is completely well and that we're being judgmental and ignorant making any assumptions otherwise. As someone recently traumatized by losing my younger chosen sister to a combination of her battle with addiction fueled by various enablers with only something to gain from keeping her inebriated/unwell, I do fear the worst for Britney as well. I would be ecstatic to be proven wrong and recognize I'm just projecting my own horrific experience on to Britney's own unique situation. But I also tried to tell myself maybe my girl was alright up until I got the call informing me of her impending funeral.

I always remember thinking back in 1999 when I listened to her debut album that country music could be in her future. Her delivery of songs like "Thinkin' About You" (although it's an old school r&b song) felt distinctly country to me. "Each day that I spend without you..." those parts just make me think she would have sounded amazing on a country track. Now that I think about it, "Thinkin' About You" is kind of close to "Something To Talk About". She could easily do a medley of both songs.

Never seen this before either thank you for sharing. Youngney was such a vocal powerhouse.
