‘Home of Britney Spears’ sign in Kentwood gets replaced with ‘Jesus is lord’

Doesn't feel like Britney's had much love from Kentwood since her second album, when Britney first debuted the hometown was loving it and the second era.

Once Britney kissed Madonna and was being hotter and hotter they seemed to start to turn on her, ever since doesn't seem like they've had her back.

It happens a lot that way. Gifted people who don't necessarily fit in lack distraction so they just toil away on their dreams until they can work out exit plans. People's ambition doesn't always ferment like that in major cities, with so much other entertainment to make life feel meaningful enough already.

I read many signs have been stolen by fans as time's gone by. In previous years, there'd be multiple displayed all across town at once.

It's fascinating when you consider how she's sort of become the poster girl for all sorts of things typically repressed in those straight-laced communities, from sensuality to, yes, questions of mental health. The tension is interesting. I imagine a weird dance of public apathy and private affection being common, and that more locals than not really took her to their hearts there and still love her underneath all of the hype and any outward outrage.

2. They blame her for EVERYTHING, they have this belief that the town is cursed by God because of Britney’s “sins” and that’s why they are so poor, as a punishment upon the land

Hi there!!! Thanks for answering curious people´s questions. Did you enjoy the town or did you hate it? Was it boring? I come from a big city, so I wonder if it was a nice pace or not.
