What I love most from the reactions I’m reading is: a lot of women are rallying behind Britney. Not that she probably means to go *this* deep but several comments from women were arguing that the caption and photo are so currently relevant in the political environment today where we literally have states legislating women’s bodies and posit that it’s so courageous as a woman to post something in defiance of how women should behave or how they should or shouldn’t expose their bodies.

I’ve also seen these AMAZING rebuttals to people, many of whom are men, who are trying to shame her. Like these girls and women coming to her defence calling these CLOWNS out saying WHO THE F ARE YOU TO TELL A WOMAN WHAT SHE CAN AND CANNOT DO WITH HER BODY?! 
 

People are going so in on it to the point: a gay guy was shaming her and people went to his Twitter and started responding to his comment with NEAR-NAKED HE POSTED OF HIMSELF saying “what like this???? You have the audacity to call her out yet post these of yourself?!”. 
 

Britney is starting a whirlwind of a conversation about how we view nudity, societal double-standards for women (particularly relating to a woman’s age and the “appropriateness” of a woman her age posting *****) and conversations about women-empowerment. 
 

Proud of her for sticking to her guns and being the most authentic proud human that she is.
