How do you know? It's been almost impossible for people to get in contact with Britney during this conservatorship, we have heard from multiple people. We don't know if her team hid it from her, if Anna couldn't get in touch, etc.

I just checked Deuxmoi’s Oct (and Nov) rumor/gossip story archives, and was unable to find the story related to Britney and a “fashion magazine”. Did they delete it?

Deuxmoi did have this to say about Britney though

No!

The only Vogue cover Wintour admitted (publicly) she regretted was the Spice Girls cover. 

She’s never mentioned Britney, or her cover.

Apparently a successful cover is proportional to the number of sales.

The Spice Girls one was a low selling one. As was Britney’s cover (it wA released a few weeks after 9/11). The biggest seller was Kim & Kayne’s cover.

Back in the day only a certain type of person bought vogue, so putting a bona fide pop star on there was a risk, nowadays all ages, types and economic backgrounds subscribe to Vogue, and all kinds of people appear. But sales are key.

There is no record of Wintour ever saying that, at least not publicly or in any official (media) capacity.

Back in 2008, some seedy publication(s) mentioned a “source” saying Britney’s “we not a Vogue kind of girl”, when it was suspected Patrick Demarchelier was photographing her for Vogue, but it was during a time she it was fashionable to hate/berate/trash Britney.
