Miley Cyrus signs to Columbia Records

Earlier, there have been rumours about ‘Plastic Hearts’ era being over. Stories vary from Miley refusing to promote it to RCA not investing in it anymore. Miley has also been recording new music in the studio.

Everything makes sense now as Miley signs to a new record label, Columbia Records, leaving RCA Records, where Britney currently is at. 

Miley is signed by Ron Perry, who has a long relationship with Miley’s co-manager Adam Leber.

Miley has released 3 albums for RCA, including the cultural phenomenon Bangerz.

Columbia artists include some big names such as Harry Styles and Adele and sister Noah Cyrus.

I don’t think anything has happened. Just Ron Perry swooping in right when Miley’s contract deal ends. Most likely has to do with Adam Leber.

Means new album probably coming this year,,and music labels are still eager to sign Miley.

Well RCA & Columbia Records are both owned by Sony Music so there's no much difference here, she'll still be able to use her past catalogue

But RCA is really meh. They like to sign artists and give them a successful 1st era, but they slack in the promotion of future eras.

I don’t even think it matters anymore what label someone is on. Music sales are dead. There’s no money in it anymore. Labels just don’t provide the funding and promo like they used to. Music has become too fast.

For a hot minute? She literally was the next and first huge big thing after Gaga’s dominance.

Plastic Hearts deserved so much more. Imagine having the best female artist of our generation signed to your label, but can’t do nothing to help her promote one of the best albums of the last year! Angels Like You, Night Crawling and Plastic Hearts were perfectly sealed and delivered for us and yet they missed the opportunity of promoting them.

I hope she releases at least something more from Plastic 💕. She could afford to shot a few videos herself. Too many good songs so wait. And she needs to include most songs in her next tour , whenever that might be.

I love the singles Midnight Sky and Prisoner. I also liked the song with Billy Idol. 

 

Miley is geninely great imo. She's rock and roll, doesn't care too much about opinions, makes great music and has a brill greatest hits to turn to at such a young age: Can't Be Tamed, We Can't Stop, Wrecking Ball, Malibu, Nothing Breaks Like A Heart and many others.

RCA are TERRIBLE so I welcome this. Shame the Plastic Hearts era seems to be coming to an end. Miley only knows how to release two singles per album ddd. Night Crawling should have been a single.
