Taylor Swift's "Evermore" debuts at #1 in UK

Congratulations Taylor! 

Released last Friday less than 24 hours after it was announced, Evermore earns Swift her sixth UK Number 1 album. Only three other female artists have six or more chart-topping albums in Official Chart history: Madonna (12), Kylie Minogue (8) and Barbra Streisand (6).

The singer-songwriter is the first artist in four years to hold the Number 1 spot with two different albums in a calendar year, since David Bowie scored two Number 1s across January - February 2016 with Blackstar and Best of Bowie following his death.

"Willow" debuted at #3 on the Official Singles Chart!

Good for her.  Also, I can't stop streaming the dancing witch version of willow. I'm not a remix kinda gal, and I love willow, but this remix makes it 5 times better.

When you basically sign a distribution deal like she did with universal music group,  one has to wonder since this isn't a traditional contract as she licensed the music to only be distributed is if the number of albums are unlimited than a normal recording contract where the label invests in everything and owns the masters. 

 

Ever since this new deal, she's been give more freedom than normal artists are allowed even prince when he was an independent artist wasn't given this kind of freedom to put out all the music anytime you want.
